Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest castle in the world that’s currently used by the royal family. It was founded in the 11th century and has been home to 40 monarchs—it was even the late Queen Elizabeth II’s favourite weekend home. Tourists all around the world visit to witness the Changing of the Guards ceremony, explore the State Apartments, and pay a visit to St. George’s Chapel!

A trip to London isn’t complete without a tour of Kensington Palace, the Royal Family’s residence since the 17th century and the current home of the Prince and Princess of Wales. There are special exhibitions to learn more about the landmark’s history, as well as the royals themselves. As the birthplace of Queen Victoria, the palace has a dedicated exhibit on her story. There’s also a tour of the King’s Gallery with artworks from the Royal Collection (which art buffs will love!), and visits to the King’s and Queen’s Rooms.
Klook Tip: Visit Kensington Palace in the summertime for a colourful floral display at the Sunken Garden that looks like it’s straight out of a painting!

After a day of learning about British royal history, why not take a break while doing some sight-seeing? The London Eye is one of the city’s newer attractions having opened in 2000, but is one of the most popular attractions in the world. It’s also the perfect place to relax and enjoy the view! From your cabin 135 metres high, you’ll be able to spot Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and Buckingham Palace. You can even upgrade your ride with the Champagne Experience for an extra good time.

What better way to get into the culture than indulging yourself with something so classically British: afternoon tea! Drinking any other tea will never be the same after you experience an afternoon at a traditional tea room with, of course, tea, sandwiches, and delicious desserts. Book the afternoon tea experience at the Kensington Palace Gardens, at the Milestone Hotel, or at The Rubens at the Palace Hotel for a truly luxe tea time.

If you’re all about sightseeing, why not try it from the tallest building in the United Kingdom? Experience The View from The Shard at roughly 310 metres high. Take in the awesome scenery of London from the outdoor viewing platform—it’s worth it, but if heights aren’t your speed, you can safely enjoy the view indoors. From The Shard, you can see the Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, the Gherkin, and the London Eye! You can also add on access to the champagne bars to take it to the next level!

Take your pick from antique traders, vintage clothing chops, street food, fresh produce, all while listening to the tunes of buskers.

You’ll be able to board the Hogwarts Express on Platform 9 ¾ and head to all the magical hang-outs, like Diagon Alley, the Gryffindor Common Room, and Dumbledore’s Office. See the actual costumes and props used in the movie, as well as learn all about the magic off-screen with a behind-the-scenes look into the film’s special effects. There are several viewpoints around the city for the picture-perfect shot, but there’s nothing quite like the view from up the tower itself. Head all the way to the top for unobstructed views of the city. Make the experience even better with a ride on the glass elevator! From the Eiffel Tower, make sure to keep your eyes peeled for Notre Dame and the Arc de Triomphe!
