Heian Shrine, also known as Heian Jingu Shrine, is a cultural landmark that celebrates the rich history of Japan’s ancient capital, Kyoto. Built to commemorate the 1100th anniversary of Kyoto's founding, the shrine pays tribute to Emperor Kanmu and Emperor Komei, the first and last emperors to rule from Kyoto's original palace. As you enter, you'll see a huge torii gate that leads you into a modern Japanese garden. Here, you can see beautiful cherry trees and peaceful ponds filled with water lilies. Spring is an especially great time to visit because the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, offering a breathtaking display. Also, don't miss the chance to visit the main sanctuary. You'll be amazed by the detailed architecture and can learn about why this shrine is such an important cultural site. When you're done at the shrine, you can check out the Kyoto Municipal Museum nearby or enjoy a nice walk in Okazaki Park. So why wait? Plan your visit to Heian Shrine and discover the beauty and history waiting for you in Kyoto!

It was just great, I was able to borrow a beautiful Furisode kimono and got accessories and a simple hairstyle to go with it. The "simple" Furisode package had, in my opinion, a fairly small selection of Furisode kimonos and most of them were very colorful, which wasn't really my thing, but I did find a beautiful kimono. A simple obi is included but I opted for the upgrade with the bow because I didn't think the other one was quite right. Getting dressed was pretty quick and I also got socks. The lady kept asking if everything was OK while I was getting dressed, which I thought was really good. A simple hairstyle was included and I really liked it, I could choose between four hairstyles for long hair and found them all very beautiful. The hairstyle was enhanced with lots of accessories and looked beautiful. You're not that fast with the shoes you get and it can be a bit difficult to walk up stairs or mountains. But I would definitely book this again, it was a great experience wearing a Kinono in Kyoto and the shop was very clean and well organized. Definitely five stars!

Raphael was a great guide, showing us everything around Gion and more, with Easter eggs and even taught us the proper etiquette and method of praying at a Shinto Shrine or a Buddhist Temple.

The tour guide Dai Yuefeng was professional and friendly. He was always smiling and patient when asked questions. He calmly helped the guests solve their problems. I highly recommend this tour to beginners who want to experience these three major attractions in Kyoto.

Very good, I recommend it. The shop is located on the road to Kiyomi Temple. It is also good to go to the front desk. Book in advance through Klook, it is half the price of going to the shop.

As soon as you enter the store, you will be greeted warmly by the staff :) They will ask you to choose a suitable kimono first, and then help you put it on and do your hair!
