Things to do in Waitomo Glowworm Caves

I only have one free day in NZ and I'm so glad I did this tour. It was worth your money!! The whole tour was organized, our driver, Bruce provides all the necessary information you may need. The boat ride and the Hobbiton tour was very magical and dreamy 🥰

This tour was pure magic. From the peaceful boat ride under thousands of glowworms in Waitomo (like floating through a galaxy) to the golden-hour stroll through Hobbiton, every moment felt surreal. Our guide made the entire day seamless and special. This wasn’t just a tour—it was a dream brought to life. Absolutely worth it.

The process was smooth and effortless! The driving was safe, and although it was a long journey, I was able to sleep and enjoy the scenery of New Zealand! The Waitomo Caves and the Hobbiton Movie Set are both sights you can only see here, so you should definitely go!

The driver picked us up at the designated location, which was very convenient. We will go to the Hobbit Village in the morning, and then to the Glowworm Cave in the afternoon. We will also pass by some small attractions such as the dam.

One of the highlights of my trip to New Zealand! The Hobbiton is straight out of the movie and a must-visit! The Waitomo Cave is definitely out of this world! The trasnfer was smooth and the tour guide/driver was very nice!

Such a fantastic experience. Todd from great sights was such a fun and warm guide / driver. The bus was really comfortable and the lunch was delicious. My mom is a vegetarian and we were glad they had a Vegan option! Both places are a must see and we will recommend this tour to our friends and family.

The Hobbit Village scene is highly restored, as if you were in a movie scene. At the end, you can get a free alcoholic drink in the tavern. The overall experience is relaxing and enjoyable. I highly recommend it!
