Things to do in Asahiyama Zoo

During the trip, our tour guide Tou shared with me the best places to visit in Hokkaido and the hidden delicacies in Tokyo. I took advantage of the Golden Week to visit Sapporo from Tsukuba, and the trip did not disappoint me. Thank you for the guide's guidance, which made today's trip a smooth one. Although I was in Hokkaido for only three days, I gained a lot!

Highly recommend this tour, it’s worth the money paid as it covers quite a handful of spots. Our tour guide Tenzo was amazing, he is helpful and knowledgeable. He went the extra mile as well when I left my powerbank in the tour bus.

As a solo traveller not driving, this tour offered a convenient way to experience the sights in Hokkaido! Public transportation was generally time consuming with limited timings. Tou was an excellent guide - he organised the tour so well that we could properly enjoy each attraction without having to rush - Asahiyama Zoo, Seven Star/Ken & Mary Tree, Patchwork Road, Blue Pond, and Shirahige Falls! The only downside was that food at the lunch place (Herb Garden) was average. Tou was also well prepared with QR codes for us to scan lunch menu, zoo map, and even shared his own list of food places! Love how he generously shared about his knowledge of Hokkaido/the attractions 😊He also has a good eye for photography and was helpful in snapping pictures for the tour group. Kudos Tou! 👍🏼🙌🏼

I am very, very lucky to have met Chen Sang, who was still fighting on the front line two years ago. The whole trip was great and we were very lucky. It was cloudy and rainy on the way, but the sun came out when we arrived at the scenic spot. Finally, we returned to Sapporo under the beautiful sunset. Compared to my last trip to Hokkaido in late December, this time in early May there was no excitement of snowmobiling in Furano, but the Meiei and Shirahige Falls were still there, especially the surrounding snow-capped mountains. Asahiyama Zoo has a very interesting design. The children visited the penguin house twice. Perfect

I chose this tour because if I were to take the JR train and then the bus in one day, I could only go to Asahiyama Zoo and Shirahige Falls, which would take up a lot of time and be very rushed. During the trip, tour guide Shao Sheng not only introduced the features of the attractions but also shared some details about life in Japan. We only stayed in Asahiyama Zoo for an hour and a half, which was a bit rushed. It would have been better if we stayed for another half an hour. The Ken & Mary tree was a bit special because it was integrated with the rain tree. The Shirahige Waterfall was really beautiful, and the Forest Elf Terrace was a small shop selling fine products. The most regrettable thing is that I was not able to go to Biei Blue Pond.

Highly recommend this tour if you would like to visit asahikawa area. Tour guide Tenzo & driver were very professional, we managed to finish the attractions on time and returned. The time allocated were all ok also.

The Chinese and English tour guides were very professional and attentive. Next time, I will choose a similar one-day tour to add a personal travel method.

Well planned trip. Kevin provided good introduction about each location. Will be good if there's a longer time at the zoo though.
