Yehliu Geopark tours

Our trip to Alishan was literally a breath of fresh air. Our guide, Stella was wonderful. She was patient, given that we have two seniors with us. She’s cool and insightful. She was also the one who drove for us and I can say that she’s a careful one. We felt safe the entire duration of our trip. As for the tour itself, 1 day is not enough, as travel to and from is 6 hours. Note as well that this tour still does not include entrance fees ($300), as well as bus ($60) & train ($100), so make sure that you also purchase from Klook the one with cookies & mochi as they seem to be sold out first as it gives more value. I also think I made a mistake of choosing the THSR station as meeting point since it’s a private tour. Being picked up & brought back to the hotel would be nice as the station was about 30-min drive from our hotel. Overall, it was a good experience and recommends to everyone who has time to spare if coming from Taipei or Kaohsiung. And by the way, make sure you bring cash as the food stalls and the ticket booths do not accept cards.

We are a group of four Filipina ladies who joined the Klook join-in tour to Shifen and Jiufen, guided by Kelly Shao. Kelly was very organized, and the entire tour was smooth and hassle-free. She was thoughtful and kind—when she found out I was celebrating my birthday, she surprised me with a small lantern souvenir and treated me to peanut ice cream. Kelly was very helpful throughout the tour, communicating clearly in English and accommodating all our questions and requests. We truly appreciated her warm and professional service!

I am penning this down to write an outstanding compliment to our tour guide Mason whom not only amazing/ knowledgeable at what he does, but also who went all out to save our lives during the 2024 earthquake where Hualien was at the epicentre, 2 days ago. The day before the tour, Mason contacted us personally to arrange the pickup from our hotel and to confirm the time. When we first met on the day, he has been an amazing guide, so vibrant, humourous, lively and full of zest. He took the time an effort to remember our names personally and engage/interact with us whenever he can. Not forgetting he is also a great photographer and knows all the best spots to stand to have the best angle on all the location. Just ask him and he knows the best Love the “Taiwan Island” group photo he took for us; attached below. Mason’s exceptional expertise in Hualien and Taroko Gorge was evident in every aspect of our journey. His in-depth knowledge, attention to detail, and engaging storytelling brought the history and beauty of the region to life. We felt privileged to have such a knowledgeable guide who not only shared valuable information but also fostered a deep connection with the place. His passion for the destination was contagious, and we left the tour with a newfound appreciation for Hualien and Taroko Gorge. In fact, it’s from this trip I’ve discovered that my ancestors thousands of years ago are linked to the Amis people of Taiwan and that got me mindblown ! Something that even my family was not aware of that we have roots all the way in Taiwan. After the day tour, we went our separate ways and the very next day was the fateful day where Hualien was struck a 7.4 magnitude earthquake where we were at the epicentre. As Mason has our contact number, he personally checked on us on our wellbeing. Many of us are panic-stricken from the natural disaster. I was about to check out from my hotel when the disaster struck and was informed all roads and trains up north to Taipei has been closed or damaged from the earthquake. We were trapped in Hualien unable to leave the epicentre. There is no way out from the city to evacuate. Mason literally came to the rescue ! He used his personal car to pick us all up from the hotel and some of us stuck at Hualien Train station. The only way out from the epicenter to Taipei is to drive 7 hours convoy south towards Kaoshiung and take the HSR, which he tireless drove non-stop all the way to ensure the safe evacuation of the 7 of us. He said he felt a sense of responsibility to ensure us visitors are safely evacuated out from the disaster area and that we can safely return to Taipei and back to Singapore for our flights. Mason has been our life saver as we were literally trapped in Hualien if it wasn’t for his heroic endeavour to organise an evacuation route for us within his own resources. I am thankful and grateful for his valiant act to ensure safe passage out of Hualien and it is highly commendable ! Thank you Mason Cheng Kuo-Hsiang 鄭國祥 for rescuing us from a natural disaster ! Your heroic efforts deserves a medal !

The tour was very convenient especially if its your first time in Taiwan. Our guide York was very accommodating and took care of us all throughout the trip. Availing this tour is a good choice than doing DIY

As soon as we got off the plane, we were able to get on the air-conditioned nine-passenger minibus and listen to the tour guide "Dabao" introduce the scenic spots in Penghu in a friendly and interesting way. Each scenic spot has special snacks, which added a lot of fun to the trip. Thank you to the tour guide for helping us take photos from the best angles at each scenic spot. It is highly recommended for travelers who are new to Penghu to participate!

Thank you for a wonderful trip! I was not able to go to Taroko Park due to the earthquake, but thanks to our tour guide Wangwang's humor and enthusiasm, it was a wonderful and unforgettable trip. The itinerary was actually quite fulfilling, starting with a sea cruise, admiring the basalt landscape of the East China Sea and feeding terns. After arriving in Yuanbei, we went deep into the local landscape. The tour guide was a local Yuanbei and told many stories about Yuanbei’s early rise and local customs. You can have more noodles for lunch, so you don’t have to worry about not being full. During the ecological tour of Baodun and the intertidal zone, you can see many strange little creatures. The tour guide also introduces them vividly and interestingly. The experience is quite special. If you want to try a different island hopping itinerary, it is highly recommended.

It was a weekday afternoon for my family's birthday, and it was cloudy and not hot. I didn’t have high expectations for this trip, but due to the unpopular time, only my family members were the only passengers on the boat, so we unexpectedly chartered the boat! Thank you very much to Mr. Yacht Driver, who has three jobs (driving + commentary + photography), is responsible, kind and enthusiastic, and allowed us to leave wonderful memories of our birthday in Dapeng Bay!
