Looks like summer plans are taking a huge hit this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With stay-at-home policies in place, we’re sure beach plans have been pushed back until further notice. But for now, let’s sit back and relax on the couch and put on a beach film to get us excited for our first beach trip out of quarantine! Grab a tropical drink and check out our summer flick picks!

Based on the true story of Bethany Hamilton, one of America’s top surfers, Soul Surfer pulls focus on the tragic shark accident that has left her without a left arm. Viewers will finish this film inspired by the young surfer, who, with the help of her family, friends and God, pushes towards her dreams and defies all odds. 

Another movie focused on Bethany Hamilton’s inspiring story but presented in a documentary format. The story follows her struggle as she tries to get back in the water, find love, build a family, and push her mind and body to its limits. 

Last Summer follows a group of high school graduates on the their final summer together before they go off to college. The film features multiple storylines of young adults as they wrestle with love, friendship, family, and independence before officially going into adulthood. 

Inspired by the famous 1999 TV series Baywatch, this movie follows aspiring junior lifeguards as they compete with the Malibu kids for bragging rights and their spot in the ultimate tower at Malibu Beach.
