The Filipino Resort That Takes “Amuma” to Heart
Have you ever gone on vacation only to find a hint of homesickness in a hotel or resort that doesn’t quite feel like home? The next time you find yourself travelling to Bohol, head south to the island of Panglao and visit Bluewater Panglao Beach Resort, one of the best resorts in Bohol that marries the contemporary luxury of a premium four-star resort, coupled with the warmth of Filipino hospitality.
Bluewater Panglao welcomes its guests with the philosophy of “amuma”—a Visayan word associated with warmth and care—and a promise to make every guest feel right at home. With all that the resort has to offer, you get to enjoy the charm of island living to the fullest as Bluewater Panglao offers amenities and activities that everyone will enjoy.
The 6-hectare resort honors Bohol’s natural beauty with its locally-inspired contemporary architecture and mostly outdoor facilities that highlight their eco-focused initiatives and environment.
Rooms That Feel Like Home
Staying in Bluewater Panglao’s accommodations makes you feel like you’re spending the weekend at your favorite relative’s house. And it’s no accident—the resort designs its 54 well-appointed rooms, lofts, and villas to feel like an upscale Filipino home.
Guests at the Bluewater Panglao Beach Resort have the option of picking a variety of accommodations: Premiere Deluxe Rooms, Family Lofts, One Bedroom Villas, and a Two Bedroom Villa. Each room is a blend of Filipino culture mixed with contemporary design. The result: comfortable and spacious rooms that feel like your own!
Those spending a night in one of the Premiere Deluxe Rooms will wake up to a lovely view of the main pool. Inside, every room is equipped with a skylit bathroom featuring a free-standing bathtub. Each room brings out the best in contemporary local taste, reflecting the natural beauty and culture of Bohol.
Bluewater Panglao proves they’re one of the best Bohol resorts catering to families as their Family Lofts are their bestselling accommodations. Featuring two storeys with bath and shower facilities on every floor, each of the resort’s four lofts can comfortably accommodate a family of four.
A more popular choice for couples on a romantic getaway is the One Bedroom Villa. Each of Bluewater Panglao’s three One Bedroom Villas has a private dipping pool and viewing deck that features a view of the resort’s vibrant gardens. Indoors, you and your partner can lounge in the private lanai with a cup of coffee made from the villa’s available espresso machine service, or snuggle up on the huge King bed and explore your viewing options in the room’s Netflix-ready TV.
And for the large family or group looking to spend quality time on the island, Bluewater Panglao has one Two Bedroom Villa that offers privacy while feeling just like home. The Two Bedroom Villa features one King bed and two Queen beds, a private dipping pool, a viewing deck that showcases the resort gardens, and an espresso machine and Netflix-ready TV to really make you feel like you never left your place!
A Feast of Flavors You Won’t Forget
You don’t have to leave Bluewater Panglao Beach Resort to find a delectable dining experience. The resort features a restaurant and a poolside bar to satisfy your cravings. Staying by its theme of “Amuma,” Bluewater Panglao believes in providing more than just a feast, but an exquisite moment that guests won’t forget.
Bluewater Panglao’s restaurant, Aplaya, is named after the Filipino and Spanish word for seaside. Living up to its name’s origins, Aplaya offers local, international, and Filipino-Asian fusion, providing you with a menu that has plenty of options. Each dish is made with fresh local ingredients sourced from the farmers of Bohol. We recommend trying the local fare while basking in the restaurant’s view of the Bohol strait.
By the resort’s main pool, the Baroto Poolside Bar offers refreshing drinks, alcoholic concoctions, and light snacks. Have a bite to eat and unwind with your favorite drink as you lounge by the pool and take in the scenic views.
Unwind and Destress at Amuma Spa
Let Bluewater Panglao pamper you with the relaxing ambience, warm hospitality, and a delightful blend of ancient and modern therapies from Visayan, Filipino, Asian, and Western cultures at the Amuma Spa.
Choose from a number of signature therapies: from the Hilot Lamang where no two sessions are alike, to the Pikpik Kawayan Sa Siki that uses bamboo poles to relieve body pain and improve circulation!
Boundless Fun for the Whole Family
Bluewater Panglao Beach Resort is 10 minutes away from the many white-sand beaches and other attractions on the island. But if you and your family prefer a staycation in Bohol, you’ll find that the resort has plenty of activities to keep you entertained.
Enjoy the resort’s main attraction, its swimming pool featuring its own isle and bridge. Take a dip and cool off from the tropical heat, or lounge by the pool, relax, and work on your tan.
Take a trip with Bluewater Panglao’s team of certified diving instructors and go on a thrilling scuba-diving adventure. See what the shores of Bohol have to offer beneath the surface, or get on a kayak and learn how to paddle by the shore.
Guests also have access to the resort’s many leisure activities. You can bond with your family or friends over board games like Jenga, Dominoes, Connect 4, table tennis, and DuckPin Bowling, or just lounge around at Kawayan Hall!
