Cherry Blossoms in Gardens by the Bay Singapore
Can’t make it to Japan or Korea to catch the Cherry Blossoms this year? No fret! The Sakura Matsuri at Gardens by the Bay Singapore will leave you with a sakura fever like no other. Happening from 6 to 29 March 2020, catch the elusive pink beauties in bloom over at the Flower Dome.
Get ready for Cherry Blossom displays, Japanese tea ceremonies, sake tasting, a mini hanami experience and even an anime festival!

Getting tickets to Gardens by the Bay Sakura Matsuri
The Sakura Matsuri is located within the Flower Dome conservatory of Gardens by the Bay and you will need admission tickets to enter. Pre-book your Gardens by the Bay tickers on Klook to skip the line and gain access to both the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest.
Maximize your visit to the floral parks and combine it with a stroll on the OCBC Skyway! Take in the views from the top of the Supertrees and stay till late for the Garden Rhapsody light and sound display.
Sakura floral display
With over 20 species of spring blossoms on display, we’ve rounded up the TOP photo spots for you to get your shot of this year’s Sakura Matsuri.
Torii gates
The iconic orange Torii gates are definitely the top pick for your photos. Stroll through the life-sized lanes lined with beautiful pastel pink blooms and gaze at the different species of blossoms along the way.
Gassho-style farmhouse
The distinctive, steep thatched roofs of the Gassho-style farmhouses will take you right into the postcard-famous Shirakawago! These sloping roofs are designed to withstand the heavy snowfall that the Takayama region gets in winter.
Now adorned with pretty pink blooms, these adorable houses make for a perfect photo!
White bridge
The white bridge located near the exit of the Flower Dome is another photo spot you cannot miss. This romantic bridge will make for a great picture with bae.
Hanami Experience
It’s not a true blue Sakura experience without Hanami! A Hanami experience typically includes wearing a Yukata, a summer version of the Kimono and having a picnic under the cherry blossom trees.
The Hanami Experience at Sakura Matsuri costs SGD20 (Php 730) (not included in admission fees) includes the following:
- 2 way ride onboard the Auto Rider (Bayfront Plaza - Flower Dome)
- Yukata Rental
- Hanami pack: Sakura flavoured snacks and green tea specially imported from Japan
- Sakura Sake tasting
There is also a small marketplace for you to browse through special Cherry Blossom themed souvenirs to take home to immortalize your visit. You can find fans made of special Kimono fabric, hair accessories and even the giant Japanese strawberries which look too juicy to be true!
Sakura Cultural Programmes
In partnership with the Japan Creative Centre, a cultural arm of the Embassy of Japan in Singapore, there is a whole range of activities for you to experience the festivities. From tea ceremonies to exuberant cultural performances, it’s time to get cultured!

Watch as the Meadow transforms into an anime wonderland, featuring celebrity cosplayers, ani-song artists and even anime screenings! Fans of Japanese pop culture, this is definitely something you don’t want to miss.
