1. The Golden Gate Bridge
The most iconic bridge in the world, no one who comes through San Francisco leaves without seeing the Golden Gate Bridge. 2. Madame Tussauds San Francisco
A list of locations for Madame Tussauds can probably fill another list in itself (stay tuned!) but if you head over to their San Francisco location, you can rub (wax) shoulders of a ton of Bay Area, and American icons. We’re pretty sure the kids will enjoy seeing Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry and MCU breakout actress Zendaya while the adults can take pictures with Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage and music queen Beyonce. How to get there: Head west towards the Pier 39 Concourse, turn right onto The Embarcadero and continue onto Jefferson Street. Madame Tussauds San Francisco is located on the left, next door to the San Francisco Dungeon.
3. Pier 39
Bring the family down to Pier 39 for a full day’s worth of activities! Want to see something truly unique to San Francisco? View the seals as they make their way to the rocks on the bay. Got the shopping bug? Go ahead and check out a ton of novelty stores (like the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. outlet filled with memorabilia from the movie Forrest Gump). Add to that the multitude of events and street performers available to see and you can easily spend the whole day just in Pier 39 before exploring the rest of Fisherman’s Wharf.
How to Get There: Pier 39 is accessible through both private and public vehicles. The pier has a 24-hour parking garage while routes exist heading to Pier 39 for rail, bus and the iconic San Francisco cable car.
4. Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
Take the kids to see the different attractions inside Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Take a gander at the different oddities inside the museum like the metal T-Rex, try and make your way through the Marvelous Mirror Maze and try to beat the clock in the Impossible Laserace. It’s a quirky and odd experience perfect for families who want a bit of the bizarre in their museum trips.

How To Get There: Once you get to Fisherman’s Wharf, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Is located right next to Madame Tussaud’s San Francisco.
5. Fisherman’s Wharf
Craving for a food trip? Take the family over to Fisherman’s Wharf and start sampling seafood that is uniquely San Franciscan. We suggest finding crabs (a Filipino favorite) and clam chowder to quench hunger pangs. Aside from food, take more postcard-worthy pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Prison and the sea lions. Even better, experience San Francisco’s iconic cable cars along with a host of other attractions in the city’s busiest tourist area.
How To Get There: You can get to FIsherman’s Wharf by bus (take the 27, 74 or 8BX lines) or BART (take the Green or Yellow line)
6. Chinatown
Immerse in Chinese culture inside the oldest Chinatown in America! A community that spans 24 city blocks, head over to see the iconic Dragon Gate. While you’re there, take in the unique Chinese architecture and decorations while browsing authentic Chinese stores and restaurants.
How To Get There: You can get to Chinatown by taking the Powell-Mason line on the Cable Cars.
7. San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
Also known as the SFMOMA, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art houses piece by renowned artists with the likes of Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock and Yvonne Venegas. Along with the museum’s displays from a variety of different mediums, the museum is currently hosting exhibits that feature the forefront of the art scene. 10. Union Square Malls
Need a fix of retail therapy and big-city vibes? Head over to Union Square and feast your eyes on the amount of shopping you can get done. Marvel at the humongous Westfield San Francisco City Centre with it’s 9 levels featuring brands like Adidas and Burberry.
