Fans of Studio Ghibli films such as Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro are in for a treat! Though visiting the Ghibli Museum in real life would be a much better experience, a virtual look into the museum will do for now as the attraction remains closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
While we patiently wait in quarantine for the go signal to fly off to Tokyo, why not take a virtual tour of the Ghibli Museum? The creators of this popular attraction launched a virtual tour series on their official Youtube page to give Studio Ghibli fans a peek into one of Tokyo’s must-visit spots.

In this virtual tour, viewers will get a glimpse of the quirky museum exterior, your favorite Ghibli characters, and as well as sets modeled after the film. The Ghibli Museum is also known to be quite difficult to get into with limited tickets into the grounds daily. Tickets to the museum need to be purchased well in advance and sell out very quickly, so we’d say this virtual tour is a pretty exclusive experience!
According to their YouTube page, they will be updating the page weekly with new videos from their staff’s video journals. As of writing, they have three videos uploaded:a night tour of the museum, a tour of the “Where a Film is Born” room, and a closer look into the museum’s painted foyer ceiling featuring many popular characters.
