    [PH] NEW JAPAN VISA REQUIREMENTS

If you are considering traveling to Japan, securing a Japanese Tourist Visa is surely on your to-do list!

Having either a Single Entry or Multiple Entry Japan Visa will allow you to legally enter and stay in the country for a specified period. Japan is a country rich in history, culture, and natural beauty, and visiting it can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Beginning June 10, additional documents will be needed for applicants seeking a multiple-entry Japan visa, and who also belong to the "considerably high-income" category. Here's a review of the updated requirements for Filipino travelers who plan to apply.

    1. Bank Certificate with Average Daily Balance

You'll need to submit a Bank Certificate, and it should show your running balance from the past six months. If the Average Daily Balance (ADB) for this period isn't specified, you'll need to pass bank statements that show your transactions during the same time frame.

    Klook Tip:

There is no hard set rule to the “right” amount needed in a bank certificate. Rule of thumb, the total amount should be commensurate to the number of days of your trip.

    2. Employment Certificate with additional details

Make sure to prepare an Employment Certificate from your current company. It should indicate how long you've been employed with them, your salary, and your position.
If you're a business owner or you're self-employed, you can pass your business' DTI Certificate of Business Name Registration, and a Mayor's Permit from the City Hall where your business is registered.

    3. BIR Tax Payment Certificate or Form 2316

You'll need to submit a Tax Payment Certificate issued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue, also known as Form 2316. Make sure this is signed by both your employer and yourself.
And for business owners, documented proof of your paid taxes must be passed together with your BIR Tax Payment Certificate Form.
If you plan to travel with your family, husbands, wives and children of Filipino citizens with significantly high income may also apply for a multiple-entry Japan visa. All you'll need to do is provide proof of their relationship to the sponsor of the trip to Japan. Documents such as a PSA-issued Birth Certificate or Marriage Certificate may be used for these purposes.
Apply for a Japan visa today to embark on an unforgettable journey, and create lasting memories in the Land of the Rising Sun!
