Mike Chen AKA Strictly Dumpling’s Recommended Food Spots in Poblacion, Makati

Poblacion is known as a melting pot of culture and cuisine. This Makati hotspot hosts some mouthwatering food that people need to try. We brought renowned Youtube foodie Mike Chen from Strictly Dumpling and he joined us for a food tour around Poblacion. Check out the places he went to and food he sampled with the Klook Team.

Start off your bar crawl by visiting Khao Khai Thai Chicken Restaurant. Mike definitely loved the green mangoes served with some 77% dark chocolate bagoong. Other offerings in Khao Khai include some succulent Thai-style chicken as well as some bar chow and drinks like wings, fries, and cocktails.

Mike’s next stop on your Poblacion Bar Crawl is Lampara where you can order some of their signature Filipino-themed cocktails like their Tinutong and Asiong. Pair that up with some slow-roasted pork belly topped with cacao nibs for the perfect companion to your drink.

Fill up on some great craft beer on tap and get some of their sinfully great Deep-Fried Hainanese Chicken topped with 77% dark chocolate, kesong puti, and cilantro. Mike absolutely couldn’t get enough of them both.

Mike was in for a double whammy when he headed to Alamat Pub and Deli, where it’s offerings where uniquely Filipino. He thoroughly enjoyed their Auro Plata, a drink that combined gin, chocolate sauce, white rum, pandan, and cacao liqueur. He partnered with their Tiyula sa Itum, braised rib finger in burnt coconut and auro tablea.

The last stop of the Poblacion Bar Crawl is Pedro Tap House which features an Auro Chocolate Cheese Dog with 55% Dark Chocolate. Mike absolutely adored the cheese dog with the Auro Midnight Stout.
