Legend has it that Chun Shui Tang was the first to invent our beloved bubble tea. That said, it’s practically a sin not to include this to your Taipei food tour and drop by one of its 90 branches and get a sip of this creamy delight! Although they’ve definitely expanded their milk tea options since then, we still highly recommend you try the Original Pearl Milk Tea first! However, since it’s become quite the tourist attraction, get ready to wait at least 20 minutes for your drink (it’s worth it, we promise)!

You won’t have any trouble locating 50 Lan during your Taipei food tour. This milk tea chain is everywhere – with sometimes two branches in the same street! 4. Chen San Ding
If you’re on the hunt for the best milk tea in Taiwan – Chen San Ding might just be it. Although many claim this to be the best milk tea house in the country, you’ll be surprised to know that it contains no tea. The real star here are its tapioca pearls – they’re chewy and provide just the right amount of sweetness to the drink.
Chen San Ding prides themselves in their Black Sugar Bubble Tea, which is essentially just brown sugar tapioca pearls topped with a generous amount of Taiwanese milk. If you’re a little skeptical about this “milk tea”, we still highly suggest you give it a try! You’ll easily spot their Zhongzheng District stall thanks to the long, neverending lines.

However, for locals, this happens to be a common favorite! Tea Egg is a traditional Chinese savory snack where a hard boiled egg is slightly cracked and boiled in tea. SOMA has been making noise thanks to its tasty mocktails and milk tea in Taiwan. Yup – this bubble tea house serves customers a wide variety of tasty mocktails for a more refreshing option. Also – if you’re looking for something “healthier”, you’ll be glad to know SOMA makes their teas with skim milk powder or almond milk upon request!
