Pinoy cocktails for your next e-numan
If you haven’t been victimized by “gin bilog” -- one of the most famous local gins in the Philippines -- then we don’t think you’ve experienced a true Filipino inuman just yet. If, however, you are one of the countless people who have woken up with a pounding headache after too many Weng Wengs, then best believe we are all part of the club!
Almost always available at sari-sari stores for just a little over PHP50, it is no wonder why this liquor is a Pinoy favorite. So if you’re suddenly in the mood for a fun drink with a kick, a trip to the nearest sari-sari store is all you need because we’ve listed down 10 gin bilog Pinoy cocktails you can easily mix with ingredients you probably already have at home:

Tip: Dissolve the powdered juice drinks in gin before mixing with the beer
6. RPG
The name of this cocktail might as well mean Rated Parental Guidance because any child can easily mistake this drink for an unassuming pineapple juice, when it, in fact, has two very strong alcoholic ingredients mixed in.
- 1 bottle Red Horse
- 1 bottle gin bilog
- 1 500 ml canned pineapple juice
- Ice
7. Kisay
A mix of lime soda and calamansi gives this drink a nice sour kick and while it won’t necessarily give you convulsions -- aka what the drink is called in english -- it will definitely leave a tangy yummy shiver down your spine.

9. Tia Maria’s Zombie
Zombie cocktails are made using rum but this Pinoy version of course uses the Filipino-loved Gin Bilog instead and takes flavor inspiration from the refreshing Jamaican liquor, Tia Maria.

- 1 500ml Sprite
- 1 pack strawberry flavored juice (Zesto)
10. Toma Collins
A Pinoy take to the American cocktail, Tom Collins, this drink swaps the lemon for a more local flavor: calamansi. Another local spin is done on the name of the cocktail, using the Filipino slang term ‘Toma’ instead of Tom, which means ‘to drink’.

- 1 part calamansi juice
- 1 part honey syrup (equal parts water and honey)
- 1 to 2 parts tonic water
