Home to a ton of cool stuff, it's hard to not geek out while you're here as you explore their many different themed zones, such as the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Super Nintendo World and Jurassic Park. With over 10 different areas spread across the park, you can expect thrilling themed rides, family-friendly attractions and fun performances held here all-year round.

2. Tokyo Disneyland

Relive your childhood memories with a visit to none other than Tokyo Disneyland itself. Long reigned king in capturing the hearts of children (and children-at-heart), witness the many magical moments that come to live as you set your eyes upon Cinderella's iconic castle or meet Buzz Lightyear and Mickey Mouse for the first time. 3. Tokyo DisneySea

Look forward to romantic harbours, scenic boat rides and exhilarating water rides at Tokyo DisneySea, the sister theme park to Tokyo Disneyland. As its name suggests, the park adopts a nautical theme, with its shows and attractions based on myths and legends of the sea, and this fits perfectly with its location overlooking Tokyo Bay. The rides here also tend to be a little more thrilling than its sibling's, as it is geared towards teens and adults. Fun fact: this is the only DisneySea in the world!

4. Sanrio Puroland
📍 Tokyo
Meet the beloved Hello Kitty and her cute friends (Gudetama, My Melody and many more!) at Tokyo's Sanrio Puroland, an indoor theme park that definitely exceeds our ratings on the adorable scale. Spread across 4 separate floors, the park is filled with themed rides, parades and film screenings that can definitely be enjoyed by both kids and adults. If you're a huge fan of Sanrio, a must-do here is hopping onto the Sanrio Character Boat Ride, a fun cruise where you'll see the world of Sanrio and its characters from inside your boat.

The vibrant LEGOLAND Japan is the second LEGOLAND theme park in Asia (right after our very own LEGOLAND Malaysia!) and is home to 40 fun and interactive attractions made for friends and families to enjoy. It's taken over 17 million authentic LEGO pieces and 10,000 LEGO model sets to build up this colourful theme park, and there is just so much to explore across the 7 themed areas here. A highlight here would be MINILAND, where you can try to spot impressively detailed miniatures of 10 different Japan destinations!

6. Fuji-Q Highland
📍 Yamanashi
Adrenaline seekers, this may be the one for you! If you're a fan of extreme rides, then you'll definitely find great ones at Fuji-Q Highland, a theme park located at the foot of Mount Fuji and home to world record-breaking thrill rides and attractions that are not made for the faint-hearted. Some of our favourites include the Takabisha, a roller coaster known for its extremely steep fall, and the Jikyu General Hospital, a creepy hospital-themed haunted house.

7. Huis Ten Bosch
📍 Nagasaki
Recreating an authentic Dutch town, Huis Ten Bosch allows you to experience the beauty of the Netherlands without stepping foot outside of Japan! Here, you’ll get to witness stunning canals, windmills, and architectural wonders that are typical of Dutch culture. With over 50 different facilities to see, we highly recommend mapping out your route in advance before your visit! Some of our favourite attractions include the impressive City of Flowers, as well as the Kingdom of Light, which illuminates the night sky with its twinkling lights.

8. Yomiuri Land

Nestled in Tokyo, Yomiuri Land is the largest amusement park in the city that is a literal wonderland all-year round! From rides amidst cherry blossom blooms and summertime pool activities, to dazzling light shows in the colder months, you know you're in for a treat as you experience something new every season here. There's also over 40 different attractions here to enjoy no matter the time of the year - our personal favourites are the Bandit, a high-speed rollercoaster, as well as the iconic Ferris Wheel.

9. Nijigen No Mori
📍 Hyogo
If you're a Naruto fan, Nijigen No Mori is a must-visit. A theme park made for anime lovers, immerse yourself with Naruto-themed attractions here, including a giant maze filled with obstacles and ninja quests! There's more than just Naruto here though - another highlight of the park is the 162-metre long zip line course that will propel you straight into the terrifying mouth of Godzilla. There's even an outdoor adventure park dedicated to the beloved anime Crayon Shinchan and an immersive Dragon Quest field RPG activity.
For a limited time, there is also a Nijigen-no mori x “Demon Slayer” collaboration event! In the daytime, you can participate in Demon Slayer-themed riddle solving games, and after the sun sets, dive into the world of the anime with an immersive night walk.

10. Edo Wonderland
📍 Tochigi
Travel all the way back to 17th century Japan with a trip to Edo Wonderland Nikko Edomura, an authentic replica of a village built in the Edo Period. A cultural theme park that isn't just fun but educational as well, get the chance to relive Japan’s colourful history here as you walk through the action-packed streets of Edo Village, where you’ll see everything from ninjas to water magic shows! You can even get into character by renting out costumes and practicing your calligraphy skills at the local school here.

11. Tokyo Joypolis

A haven for game and tech geeks, Tokyo Joypolis is the largest indoor theme park in Japan operated by SEGA, a name that may be familiar to many of you gamers. Featuring cutting edge entertainment facilities, the theme park gives you access to over 20 different thrilling rides, VR attractions, realistic simulators and arcade games, but the best ones are definitely the themed attractions of popular films and anime such as Sonic, Resident Evil, Initial D and more!

A must-visit for all of you Moomin fans, Moominvalley Park is the first ever Moomin-themed park outside of Finland, ushering you into the dreamy world of the beloved family. The world literally comes to life here - be greeted at Metsä Village where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll through the Nordic village, before heading into the theme park with 4 different outdoor zones. The highlight here would definitely be Moominvalley, where you can find the iconic Moominhouse and an outdoor theatre for daily performances.
