You can soon visit Seoul, Busan and more visa-free!
Get excited, K-Wave fans! This is the news we’ve all been waiting for. This 2020, Philippine passport holders will be given VISA-FREE access to cities like Seoul, Busan, and Nami Island – making you one step closer to checking South Korea off your bucket list! However, there’s a catch – so keep on reading!
Last December 12, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance and the Ministry of Justice announced that as part of South Korea’s “Plan for Promoting Foreign Tours,” Philippine passport holders will be permitted to enter major South Korea cities without holding a visa!
However, it is important to note the limitations of this program. Tourists are only permitted visa-free entry in inland areas – Seoul, Incheon, and Busan – for up to five days; and that their final destination be Jeju Island.
This new Visa-Free program also extends to Vietnam and Indonesian passport holders.
For more information, you may check out the official Visa-Free Program announcement of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea here.
Visit South Korea visa-free through Jeju Island!
In the event that you can no longer wait until this visa-free program becomes official, you can still enter South Korea visa-free by visiting Jeju Island! Though you cannot travel to any other cities outside of Jeju Island, we can guarantee you an exciting adventure through this coastal wonder!
Apply for your South Korea visa!
For longer holidays to South Korea, we highly recommend applying for a South Korea visa instead! More than just experiencing the well-loved K-Wave in its origin city, a visa will allow you to venture off to Seoul’s outskirts, ride the train to Busan, and so much more! What’re you waiting for? It currently takes 30 days to get you South Korea visa – so set your appointment soon!
