Cat Cat Village tours

Tour guide is very accomodating. He speaks English well and can converse with us. He also shares some background about Sapa, Vietnam which were all very interesting. For the place, we were lucky that day since its just cloudy but not raining too much. Fast movement of the lines on the elevator going up and down too.

Visitors can explore scenic terraced fields, cascading waterfalls, and quaint wooden houses while interacting with the friendly locals. The experience is both peaceful and enriching, making Cat Cat Village a must-visit for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the authentic rural life of Northern Vietnam.

we enjoyed this half day trekking experience. i’m glad I booked a private tour too so we got to take our time trekking the mountain. our tour guide was super helpful and nice as well. would recommend this if you have more time to explore Sapa.

The 8km hike was tough, but rewarding. The view was stunning and picturesque. We hiked through forest and rice paddies to reach the Tra Village village for our lunch. We were glad we'd rented boots to keep our shoes clean.

It is also possible to depart from Sapa, get off at Lao Cai, and then move on, so it would be a good idea to consider it if you have such an itinerary. It was fun to experience a true local market only available on Sundays. Because of the atmosphere, you can't buy anything, but there is everything from clothes, industrial products, food, props, and even livestock, and you can see ethnic minorities living in real places where they sell and buy, not in a touristic way. The lunch provided was also reasonable (water and beverages are calculated separately).

It was a timely tour. One of the place is inside a forest. In both the places, there is lot of climbing required. Make sure you are prepared for it. It was a fun experience.

Note that itinerary is not in order. Overall, did enjoy the tour. It was a little touristy at times when visiting the villages but they are not insistent on you buying any crafts so it was still fine. Definitely visit Fansipan mountain! Unfortunately, it was foggy so we could not see much. Layer on as it was roughly 10C at the summit in August!
