From the classics to the modern visually stunning series, here are some titles you need to catch!
Anime is a genre that is widely enjoyed by both children and adults! While there are some who grew up watching their favourite anime series on Channel 8 during the weekends or even on Arts Central on weekday evenings, there are also some who just never stopped watching them.

Whether you used to, still do, or plan to watch anime, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best series on Netflix you can check out!
1. Your Lie In April
The story follows Arima Kousei, a piano prodigy whose fame was cut short as a child, following his mother’s death. The trauma of his mother’s passing rendered him musically decapitated, and unable to hear his music. But everything changes when he meets Kaori, a free-spirited musician who makes it her mission to get Kousei back on stage.

2. Fruits Basket
High school student Tohru Honda was forced to fend for herself after her mother passed, leaving her no choice but to move into a tent, until she finds a home in the least likely of places. Realizing her situation, the Sohma family welcomed her into their home, where she later found out about the curse that the Sohma Clan is under.
With the highly anticipated second season currently airing, this is one series to binge if you would want to catch up!
3. Kakegurui
Kakegurui is set in Hyakkaou Private Academy, an institution for Japan’s top elite and privileged. However, unlike any other educational institution, this academy puts focus on honing the students’ skills to get ahead of their opponent and offers an extensive gambling curriculum.
The lives of the students get shaken up when transfer student Jabami Yumeko, comes in and shows them the tricks of a true-blue high roller.
4. Violet Evergarden
Violet is an orphan whose life purpose was solely to be used as a weapon for war. Now that the war is over, she takes the opportunity to work as a doll ghostwriter who writes letters, and in the process learns more about her country’s past and understanding herself by learning more about human emotions.
With the use of modern graphics, Violet Evergarden is one of the most visually stunning series on this list, where each frame is rendered so perfect that it mimics a live landscape.
5. Haikyu!!
Hinata Shoyo, a junior high school student, gains a sudden interest in volleyball after seeing a game on television. Despite being short in height, he pursues to become like his favorite player nicknamed “Little Giant” and joins his school’s volleyball team. He forms an unexpected alliance with another volleyball player, Kageyama Tobi, and together they embark on a journey towards the national championship.
6. Food Wars
Aspiring chef Yukihira Soma enrolls in the prestigious culinary school, Totsuki Saryo Culinary Institute, where students engage in food competitions called shokugeki. There, he makes friends with his peers and challenges Totsuki’s students in shokugeki competitions as he strives to become the best at the academy.

7. InuYasha
The story follows InuYasha, a dog-demon, through his endeavors as he seeks a powerful jewel called the Shikon Jewel. He resides in a forest close to the village where the jewel is being protected by a priestess named Kikyo.
8. Bleach
Hot-headed teenager Kurosaki Ichigo has the ability to see ghosts, an ability he had inherited from his parents. After a certain encounter with a Hollow (lost soul), he became a Soul Reaper (shinigami) whose purpose is to protect the innocent and help tortured souls find their peace.
With the last arc of this series finally in production after nearly 8 years off the air, it is a great time to catch up with this series now!
9. Hunter X Hunter
Freecs Gon grew up thinking both his parents were dead, however, he finds out through Kite that his father is actually still alive and has become a well-respected Hunter. After learning this, he leaves his home to take the Hunter Examination in hopes to find his father, and befriends applicants along the way.
10. Neon Genesis Evangelion
Originally released in 1995, this series is considered one of the all-time favorite classics by anime lovers. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world and follows Ikari Shinji as he reluctantly joins a squad of pilots under the command of his domineering father to help save the earth.
