Avatar: The Experience Highlights You Cannot Miss
Immerse in the World of Pandora and Meet the Na'Vi
Avatar: The Experience, set within the visually stunning iconic Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay, will wow you with impressive interactives and striking content throughout five different zones.
You will be welcomed by the iconic cascading waterfall at Cloud Forest and its resident banshee - are you ready for adventure?
Sacred Space Foliage Experience
Explore Pandora's bioluminescent environments, engaging with its mystical creatures and flora, and sharing in the captivating culture of its indigenous people, the Na’Vi.
Fun Fact: Did you know that a Na'Vi person can be up to 2.7-3m tall? The life-size sculptures of a Na’Vi family definitely won't be difficult to spot.
Cloud Forest is home to more than 72,000 plants, and Gardens by the Bay horticulturists have been working hard to “infuse Cloud Forest with the world of Pandora ”. For this experience, Gardens by the Bay has welcomed another 5,700 plants comprising more than 160 species to complement the Pandoran landscape 🌳
See if you can spot some of these cool species:
- Aechmea Blue Tango (Zone 1-3): A visually stunning bromeliad with electric blue flowers and contrasting hot-pink flower stalks
- Colocasia Pharaoh Mask (Zone 2): The Colocasia Pharaoh Mask has large, heart-shaped, bright-green leaves that curve under, and are accentuated by prominent deep-purple veins. Its 3D ribcage-like appearance makes it an interesting accompaniment to the alien flora and fauna of Pandora
- Microsorum Thailandicum (Blue Oil Fern) (Zone 2): Blue is a rare colour in plants and animals. The iridescent blue-green colour of this fern is not due to any blue pigment in the leaves, but rather to shifts with the light and viewing angle in a phenomenon called structural iridescence.
Avatarize Yourself
While it's not possible to transfer your consciousness into another being - at least you can still see how you might look like as one of the Na'Vi here at the Avatarize Yourself machine! You can also download your photo as a keepsake via a QR code at the end.
Life size Banshee at Crystal Mountains
The interactives at this experience will have your jaw drop, including the debut of a life-size animatronic banshee! Head to the Crystal Mountains to find the whopping 6m-long life size banshee that roars and has real-time reaction to guests.
Do also look out for the little baby banshee - staff will bring out the baby, which will interact with the adult banshee. You can also take photos with the little one!
Here's a game that both the young and young at heart will enjoy - fly your banshee through the mountains with the help of motion sensors. Up, up and away!
Path of Transition
The Path of Transition is the final zone at Avatar: The Experience, and it is a celebration of sorts of your new found connection with the wonderful magical world of Pandora.
Wander your way through the Tree of Souls, where luminous branches drape down and marvel at all the Pandorant plants lit aglow with bioluminescent particles which are activated by movement. Definitely a teamLab-esque experience that's perfect for the 'gram, we say!
Meet the Ilu creature from Avatar: The Way of Water
You will also get an exclusive first look at an artistic sculpt representation of the new marine Ilu creature from the upcoming film Avatar: The Way of Water. How exciting is that? Definitely the perfect must-do before catching the second Avatar movie, which is slated to be released in December this year.
Before you leave, don't forget to snag some adorable limited-edition Avatar-themed merch at the gift store!
See you in Pandora 💫
