    The Bird Paradise is the latest addition to Singapore’s wildlife parks. It joins Singapore Zoo, River Wonders and Night Safari, which are all now conveniently located in one single destination at Mandai Wildlife Reserve. This highly anticipated bird park features a plethora of fun things to discover.

    Before heading into Bird Paradise, enjoy the many retail and dining options as well as playgrounds (perfect for parents looking for new places to bring the kiddos to) at Mandai Wildlife West, the new ungated public node which serves as the gateway to Bird Paradise 
    At Bird Paradise, eight stunning walk-through aviaries (with interactive and informative air-conditioned transition zones in between) take centre stage for you to explore and look out for our colourful feathered friends, and even some IG-worthy photos against the backdrop of beautiful waterfalls.

    1. IG-worthy Waterfall

    Start your day by pulling up to Mandai Wildlife West and take your first IG-worthy shots of the day with the beautiful cascading waterfall that was inspired by Indonesia’s Madakaripura waterfall, before heading to Bird Paradise. Here’s a tip –  follow the winding path behind the cascading water curtain and enjoy the cool mist.

    2.  Dining and Retail

    Make your way through Mandai Wildlife West (no entrance fees and open to the public!) and check out a variety of Asian and Western dining options. Settle in for a bite or two at A&W, Han’s Union, Birds of Paradise Gelato Boutique, Old Chang Kee Coffee House, Pavilion Banana Leaf - or even the dreamy Bird Paradise Starbucks outlet, with fun outdoor playgrounds for the young’uns located nearby.

    And not to be missed - Unpackt, Singapore’s homegrown zero-waste grocery and lifestyle store that also serves food options. You can also look forward to more dining spots opening soon with the flagship multi-concept store of Luke’s Lobster, Leckerbaer and Mr Holmes Bakehouse as well as Collins.

    PS: There are different outdoor playgrounds for kids here, including Pangolin Hideout and Pangolin Adventure to encourage play inspired by animal movements such as climbing and burrowing!

    3. Bird Paradise Entrance Plaza

    Walk under the majestic-winged entrance canopy as you enter the park. The entrance plaza features a lively display of colourful orchids and a waterfall forecourt, a nod to the local history of the site, which was the location of the former Mandai Orchid Gardens.

    4. Ocean Network Express Penguin Cove

    Peek into the fascinating world of penguins at the Ocean Network Express Penguin Cove. Check out their new state-of-the-art, multi-level home (a lovely upgrade from their previous home at Jurong Bird Park).

    Observe these adorable creatures waddling around on land or diving and swimming in the waters - and don’t forget to look out for the infamous penguin butt shake when they dry themselves after a swim! Keen to learn more about penguins? Don’t miss the Penguin Keeper Talk available at 1.30pm too.

    5. Winged Sanctuary

    Located beside Penguin Cove is Winged Sanctuary where you’ll find over 100 species of rare or predatory birds of high conservation value. This is also where you’ll get to observe several hornbill species and even the critically endangered Philippine Eagle. 

    6. Nyungwe Forest Heart of Africa

    Head up to Bird Paradise’s largest walk-through aviary - Nyungwe Forest Heart of Africa.  Taking inspiration from the forested valleys of Africa, this 1.55-ha African-themed habitat comes complete with a viewing tower, suspension bridges and Congolese pavilions., It is home to over 80 species of African birds from the African grey parrots to the starlings and turacos.

    There are Feeding Sessions taking place at 9.30am and 2pm daily where you’ll be able to get up close and feed the birds with mealworms and fruits! All proceeds from animal feedings go towards the conservation projects that Mandai Wildlife Group supports in Singapore and across the region through its conservation arm, Mandai Nature.

    7. Kuok Group Wings of Asia

    Welcome to Kuok Group Wings of Asia. This aviary pays homage to the diverse habitats of Southeast Asia, with a space designed to mimic the tranquil bamboo groves and emerald rice terraces of Bali. Apart from observing birds like the Papuan Hornbills, Black-faced Spoonbills, Australian Pelicans and milky storks, you can have the opportunity to feed the pelicans with their favourite fishes while overlooking paddy fields!

    8. Sky Amphitheatre

    One of the best parts of the old Jurong Bird Park was the presentations where visitors could watch different birds demonstrate their aerial prowess and amazing adaptations. Bird Paradise features two exciting (and updated) avian presentations at the all-new 2,000-seater Sky Amphitheatre

    Watch birds of prey like the White Bellied Sea Eagle swoop down to catch its prey at Predators on Wings, and gregarious parrots and toucans showcase their talents at Wings of the World. The presentations run twice a day each on weekdays, and three times a day on weekends (presentations timings available below), so make sure to plan your trip around the timings and don’t miss out!

    9. Egg Splash & Treetop Play

    Located near the Sky Amphitheatre, step into Egg Splash, a kid-friendly egg-themed cafe designed especially for children.

    This cafe features colourful pastels splashed throughout the interiors, a kid-friendly menu the littlies will enjoy, and exclusively designed souvenirs such as the cutest chick plushies.

    And if the kiddos are getting a little restless, head over to the Treetop Play, an outdoor playground where kids can bounce on trampolines and scale the nets like their feathered friends!

    10. Hong Leong Foundation Crimson Wetlands

    What might just be the glittering jewel in the crown, Hong Leong Foundation Crimson Wetlands is where you’ll find a 20m tall waterfall (a memorable callback to Jurong Bird Park’s original waterfall!) at Bird Paradise.

    Showcasing vibrantly coloured macaws in a large open-concept aviary inspired by the South American wetlands. Amble through the walkways and look out for the charming bright pink American Flamingoes enjoying their day in the sun, as well as the Scarlet Ibises and Roseate Spoonbills!

    11. Crimson Restaurant

    A welcome respite after walking in Hong Leong Foundation Crimson Wetlands, take a well-deserved break at Crimson Restaurant, a restaurant that overlooks the habitat.

    Tuck into delicious meals from a specially curated menu by local celebrity chef, Eric Teo, while enjoying the gorgeous view of Crimson Wetlands with colourful birds perching on the trees right next to you! 

    12. Food Central at Central Plaza

    Or if you're looking for a more casual dining area within Bird Paradise, head over to Food Central at Central Plaza offering a variety of local favourites to choose from. You can’t go wrong with Hainanese Chicken Rice or Western fare, and more delicious options. 

    13. Amazonian Jewels

    Up for your next avian adventure? Travel into the rainforests of South America at Amazonian Jewels with iconic features such as the ficus trees, and large buttress roots. And as you wander through the paths, keep your eyes peeled for fascinating species of birds such as the Andean Cock-of-the-rock, Capuchinbird and Chestnut-eared Aracari.

    14. Songs of the Forest

    One of the more whimsical parts of Bird Paradise, Songs of the Forest lets you experience unique birdsong by melodious birds such as the Bali Mynah, Asian Starlings, Asian Fairy Bluebirds, Straw-headed Bulbul and more. There’s a Songbirds Keeper Talk happening daily at 4pm, if you’d like to learn more about the birds.

    And while you’re here, take some time to relax at the air-conditioned hub, and explore the different vocalisations by the natural singers of the world. Create your personalised dawn chorus with a wave of your hand and listen to the natural (and relaxing) symphonies composed by the different songbirds.

    15. Lory Loft

    Miss the old Lory Loft at Jurong Bird Park? Here’s an updated take on it where you can make your way through suspension bridges styled after the ethnic treehouses in Papua. Check out the colourful lories and parrots, and don’t miss the Lory Feeding Sessions at 11am and 3.30pm daily where the birds will flock to you for a taste of sweet nectar from your cup - the perfect photo op!

    16. Mysterious Papua

    Uncover Mysterious Papua and the fascinating birds that live here including the Southern Cassowaries, Nicobar Pigeons and Palm Cockatoos, along with other bird species. Designed with the coastal forests of lowland Papua in mind - keep a lookout for rest spots at the Korowai tribe house-themed pavilions too. Cassowary Feeding Sessions are also available at 1pm where you can feed the birds and learn more about them from the keepers!

    17. Australian Outback

    End off with a trip down under to the Australian Outback where you’ll feel like you’re in a little slice of Australia with eucalyptus trees, cave paintings on rock walls and giant termite mounds. Stroll through the walkways and say hello to the Kookaburras, Emus and Tawny Frogmouth (especially hard to spot, being masters of disguise!) and more. 

    18. Bird Paradise Shop

    Before you leave – take a piece of paradise home! Especially for those who can’t resist some souvenir shopping like us - visit Bird Paradise Shop and browse through a wide range of retail items made with sustainable materials.
