1. EID – 이드 Halal Korean Food
When it comes to Halal food and Seoul, one name you’ll see popping up a lot is EID. Located near the Seoul Central Mosque, this restaurant run by a Korean-Muslim family is a favourite amongst many Muslim travellers. Dig into their authentic Korean cuisine like bibimbap, bulgogi and unlimited banchan (side dishes)!

2. HAJJ Korea Halal Food
Located a stone's throw away from the Itaewon Mosque, Hajj Korea Halal Food is perfect for a hearty meal after prayers. The restaurant offers a yummy menu of not just Korean cuisine such as samye-tang (ginseng chicken soup), kimchi jjigae, bulgogi rice, and bindae-tteok (mung bean pancakes), but also Malaysian dishes such as ayam bakar nasi goreng, and teh tarik, in case you're missing flavours that are from closer to home.

3. Kampungku Restaurant
Craving some good old Korean fried chicken? Kampungku Restaurant is one of the best places to get your fix. Located just steps away from Myeongdong Station, Kampungku Restaurant also offers an authentic menu that consists of Korean as well as Malaysian dishes.
We heard their Korean fried chicken is delicious! Side note: The restaurant also has spacious prayer rooms available for anyone who needs to pray or rest - you're welcome to use it even if you're dining in, how sweet and considerate is that?

4. Busan Jib Halal Food

After a long and tiring day of shopping in Myeongdong, nothing beats the comfort of a delicious meal that you can tuck into. Despite the name, this restaurant residing in the heart of Seoul offers a menu of comforting, local meals!
Most people come here for their delicious Halal BBQ. We heard the lady boss is also extremely friendly and accommodating, so that's definitely a plus.

5. Yang Good BBQ
Now, what is a visit to Korea without BBQ, right? While it’s almost impossible to find a halal-friendly restaurant, all hope is not lost yet! Yang Good BBQ in Gangnam uses Halal-certified meat imported from Australia. Their lamb meat comes marinated and non-marinated. However, do note that since this restaurant is also popular amongst locals, they do serve alcohol as well.

6. The Halal Guys Itaewon
If you've had your fair share of Korean food and are craving something different, we'd suggest adding The Halal Guys to your food checklist! With humble beginnings operating out of food trucks in New York City, The Halal Guys is where you can get legendary falafels, gyros, and chicken sandwiches. They also sell rice and chicken bowls that are extremely filling, delicious, and available at affordable price tags. All ingredients used are 100% halal certified, and it's also popular amongst vegetarians and vegans in Seoul.

7. Osegyehyang

While Osegyehyang is not explicitly a Halal-certified restaurant, it is, however, a soy-based vegan restaurant. Located in Insadong, you can dine at ease and try a couple of their plant-based dishes like ttukbulgui (stone bowl veggie meat), bulgui deopbap (veggie meat rice) and more. Using high-quality soy protein and perilla oil in their ingredients, you’ll definitely feel good after your meal.

8. Balwoo Gongyang

Another plant-based restaurant highly worth a visit in Seoul is Balwoo Gongyang. Following the principles of Buddhism and traditional Korean cuisine, they use only organic vegetarian food in their cooking. They also exclude the use of pungent vegetables like scallions, onions, chives, leeks, and garlic. While it doesn’t seem like it’s much on paper, the food sure is good as the Michelin guide can attest to.

While it’s not a full-fledged restaurant per se, this guesthouse in Hongdae is known for its homemade halal dosirak (Korean packed lunchbox). Not only catering to the Muslim customers of BoA Travel House, but you can also dine in the restaurant of the guesthouse or order your dosirak to go!
