Here's what you need to know for travelling to Malaysia from Singapore
Travellers will have to fill up their particulars, including name, nationality, passport details and arrival as well as departure dates at this website. This should be completed within 3 days before arrival in Malaysia.
Travel Requirements to enter Malaysia starting 1 Jan 2024
Submit Malaysia Digital Arrival Card
Travellers should submit the digital arrival card within three days before arrival in Malaysia. According to the Immigration Department’s MDAC website, those exempted from needing to do this are:
- Singaporeans
- Diplomatic passport holders
- Malaysia’s permanent residents
- Brunei General Certificate of Identity holders
- Thailand Border Pass holders

Travel Insurance is optional
If you are a fully-vaccinated short-term visitor, you are no longer required to buy mandatory travel insurance.
However, it is recommended to have yourself covered! You can get travel insurance on Klook for peace of mind.
Returning to Singapore
Complete the SG Arrival Card
All travellers are required to submit the SG Arrival Card up to 3 days before arrival in Singapore.
Singapore residents and Long-Term Pass holders will not be required to submit the SG Arrival Card if they are arriving via the land checkpoints.
How to travel to Malaysia
You may now travel to and fro Malaysia through all means of transport, including long-distance buses, public buses, and also private cars. If you want to, you can even walk across the Woodlands Causeway!
1. Rent a Car Car
You may now drive right into Malaysia across both causeways. Do ensure that you have already applied for a Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) to enter. Only foreign vehicles installed with the VEP-RFID tags issued by Malaysia's Road Transport Department will be allowed to enter.
2. Singapore to Malaysia Buses
You can now book your bus tickets to popular Malaysian cities on Klook! These buses are operated by reliable providers and you will be able to choose from multiple pick-up and drop-off points. Tickets are also available for inter-city travel within Malaysia too.
If you're headed to Johor Bahru, you can also choose to take public buses like 170 and 950 that have also resumed.
