Seven years since the premiere of the animated film, The Croods, its much-awaited sequel is finally in theatres. The film follows the titular prehistoric family, The Croods, as they adapt to their new environment and new neighbours, the Bettermans, who seem to be higher up on the evolution ladder. Award-winning actors Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone and Ryan Reynolds return to voice their characters in The Croods: A New Age, alongside new joiners Peter Dinklage and Leslie Mann.

The Croods: A New Age was directed by Joel Crawford, a member of Dreamworks since 2006. Some of his previous works include popular animated films like Kung Fu Panda and Rise of the Guardians. 

Academy Award winners Nicolas Cage (Ghost Rider), Emma Stone (La La Land), and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) reprised their roles as Grug, Eep, and Guy respectively from the first film, while Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) and Leslie Mann (17 Again) joined the cast to lend their voices to Phil and Hope Betterman - two of the new main characters in The Croods: A New Age.

After battling prehistoric beasts and surviving the end of the world, the Croods set off to find a new and safer place to call home in The Croods: A New Age. Little do they know, they’re about to face their biggest challenge yet.

Upon discovering a walled paradise, they meet The Bettermans (emphasis on the “better”), a family of three who are already inhabitating the space. In comparison to the Croods, the Bettermans are considerably higher up on the evolutionary ladder, causing tension to spike between the two families. However, when a new threat comes their way, the two families must learn to set aside their differences and work together.
