1. Siam Square
One of the trendiest areas in Bangkok also known as the mecca for shopping and trendy cafes - welcome to Siam Square. Here, you’ll find lots of shops selling cute quality clothes, cosmetics (visit Eveandboy, Watsons and Boots!), and more.
Your experience in Siam Square isn’t complete without a stop at one of the stylish cafes either, like the pink-themed The Cassette Coffee Bar or the famous Korean egg sandwich store Eggdrop. You can also visit one of Thailand’s most popular dessert chains, After You Dessert Cafe, for their kakigori (shaved ice dessert) or Shibuya honey toast!

2. Khlong Ong Ang Walking Street
Bangkok isn’t just all about food and shopping, there's great art to be found here too. This artsy walking street is the epitome of Thailand’s creativity, with street art covering the entire area – it’s no wonder many people come by just for IG-worthy pictures.
What makes Khlong Ong Ang Walking Street different from other graffiti-filled streets is that there’s also a canal in the middle of the street. Don’t be surprised if you find people kayaking along the canal – you may even consider doing it yourself!
When you feel like taking a break, stop by one of the food and drink stalls along the streets. Whether it’s to take a breather as you drink drip coffee or enjoy Indian food to fill your empty stomach, you’ll find the experience much more exciting.

3. Pratunam Market
Make your way to Pratunam Market with several streets and shopping malls where you can discover the latest women, men, and kids’ fashion items at super affordable prices. Once you're done at the market, remember to cross the road and visit Platinum Fashion Mall - shopping at Pratunam isn’t over until you stop by this place. You’ll find even more goods to shop!
PS: Although it’s open from the morning to afternoon, we highly suggest going to the market in the morning as most stalls would be open then. The later it gets, the more stores will start to close.

4. The One Ratchada and Srinagarindra Train Night Market
Your Bangkok trip isn’t complete until you’ve visited at least one night market in Bangkok. Take in the vibes, enjoy affordable shopping (everything from clothes to shoes), and delicious yet wallet-friendly street food - with food such as moo krata (Thai-style barbeque and hot pot), fried fritters and more.
There are tons of night markets available in Bangkok, but if you’re short on time, we recommend visiting The One Ratchada and Srinagarindra Train Night Market.
The former is smaller and centrally located with great eats and shopping available. The latter on the other hand, is a huge night market with antiques and second-hand goods, on top of the usual night market finds – you can even spot vintage cars and motorcycles here!

5. Day Trips From Bangkok
Bangkok may be full of malls, shopping, and food, but it’s also close to gorgeous cities worth taking a day trip to explore. History fans will love Ayutthaya and Kanchanaburi, the old capital of Thailand, and a town best known for the Death Railway that was built during WWII.
If you prefer to chill and relax, then you have to visit Suan Phueng with its countryside charm and a sheep farm! We also recommend visiting Khao Yai for the cooler weather and European vibes – you’ll feel like you’re not in Thailand! Otherwise, you can also visit Hua Hin if you're craving a short getaway to the beach!
6. Benchakitti Forest Park
There’s a forest in downtown Bangkok? Well... not exactly. But with all the wetland area and lush greenery, Benchakitti Forest Park definitely looks like one. There are elevated walkways that light up at night with cycling paths, and jogging tracks where you can exercise or take a stroll in the early morning or afternoon.
It's also an aesthetic spot for photos, perfectly balancing tranquil scenery and an urban cityscape - this lovely park feels almost like New York City’s Central Park!

7. Rattanakosin Exhibition Hall
Fun fact: Did you know that Thailand, known as the Kingdom of Siam, is also known as the Rattanakosin Kingdom? That’s why the current period is called the Rattanakosin Era, and the country will be celebrating its 241st anniversary of Rattanakosin this year.
Find stuff like this interesting? Then you’ll love Rattanakosin Exhibition Hall, where you’ll be able to find out more about the history of Thailand’s current kingdom. In this three-story building featuring nine exhibition rooms, you’ll be greeted with interactive media, replicas, and multimedia presentations that showcase the development of the Rattanakosin Era.
PS: If you ever get tired, there’s a coffee shop here where you can take a moment to relax. Don’t forget to shop by its library and souvenir shop too before leaving the exhibition hall!

8. Erawan Museum
You’ve probably seen photos of this temple on your socials, and it’s no wonder why – it’s simply stunning! The impressive giant three-headed elephant statue on top of the pink temple is iconic as much as it is IG-worthy.
On top of that, as you enter the unique Erawan Museum, you’ll find colourful glass fragments bedazzling the spiralling stairs, stained glass roofs, and gorgeous ceiling murals - it's definitely worth a visit!

9. Ancient City
It’s impossible to travel around Thailand in one day – or so you might think. At Ancient City, you’ll find life-sized replicas of iconic places around Thailand, including those from the present and olden times like a floating market and Sanphet Prasat Palace.
They’ve also brought Thai mythology to life – you’ll be impressed with how massive the Sumera Mountain that’s surrounded by a giant Anondha fish is as it makes an impressive sight in person and in photos!
PS: The place is huge so remember to rent a bike (you can also drive your own car in the area).

This iconic (pun unintended) mall boasts 11 floors with an indoor floating market, and famous local and international restaurants and stores. It’s also located by the glimmering and scenic Chao Phraya River where you can spend time relaxing to the view with cruises and boats passing by.

One of our favourite things about Bangkok are the affordable Thai massages we get to enjoy here. 15. Grand Palace
Get ready to be amazed by the majestic buildings adorned with colourful glass fragments as you walk inside the former royal complex of the Grand Palace. Here, you’ll get to visit temples, stupas, and other gorgeous buildings dating from the 18th century.
While you’re here, remember to visit the Emerald Buddha, the most important Buddha image in Thailand, which resides at Phra Ubosot, also known as the Chapel of the Emerald Buddha. Depending on when you come here, you’ll see the Emerald Buddha clothed in either one of its seasonal clothes – summer, rainy season, and winter.

16. Chinatown (Yaowarat)
Make sure you arrive at Chinatown (also known as Yaowarat) with an empty stomach because you’ll want to try out all of the food – mind you, this might not even be enough because there are just that many food choices available!
Here, you’ll find a wide array of food that’ll satisfy even the pickiest eater, from light bites like skewers, dim sum, and roasted chestnuts to heavyweights like clay pot rice, grilled seafood, and peking duck.
With this many food options, it’s no surprise that some of the stalls are awarded by Michelin – take the Michelin-star Chinatown food tour to make sure you don’t miss any of them! It’s open all day, but for the real deal, arrive in the evening when a section of the road will be closed off for food stalls.

17. Chatuchak Weekend Market
Need new clothes, tableware for your house or Thai souvenirs for your friends back home? You’ll find them all here at Chatuchak Weekend Market! And the best part is, they’re all super affordable that you’ll most likely be leaving with your hands full of shopping bags.
It’s only open on the weekends though, so remember not to come here any other days. But if you happen to be in Bangkok at that time, we recommend setting aside one full day to shop here!

18. Big C Supercenter Ratchadamri
Food shopping is a must, no matter where you go! And in Bangkok, one of the best places to get your stock of Thailand-limited Lay’s chips and Mama noodles is Big C Supercenter Ratchadamri. It holds a wide range of snacks, ranging from potato chips and seaweed snacks to instant noodles and milk tea.
It also sells fresh food, cosmetics, electronic goods, and more in case you ever need them during your trip or if you’re looking to buy them for back home – it’s a supermarket after all.

19. Asiatique The Riverfront
Want a picturesque night view, scrumptious food, and a great time with your friends or family? Head to Asiatique The Riverfront! What’s amazing about this place is its location right beside the Chao Phraya River – you’ll see illuminated cruises and boats passing by you brightening the night.
You can also ride the picture-perfect Ferris wheel and merry-go-round, and shop around for clothes, accessories and more. Don’t worry if you get hungry while doing all this though – there are tons of popular restaurants and dessert stores here. (I highly recommend trying MK Restaurant for its hot pot – everyone who’s eaten here almost always falls in love with it!)

20. Temple-hopping
Thai temples are everywhere in Thai cities, and they’re hard to miss, with tall stupas and beautiful intricate designs. In Bangkok, we recommend going to Wat Pho for its huge reclining Buddha or Wat Arun for the scenic temple views by the Chao Phraya River.
If you’re up for some temple-hopping, you can also join a temple day tour that’ll bring you to four temples! Remember to be respectful and wear the appropriate attire when you’re visiting any of the temples in Bangkok – after all, it’s a place of worship.

21. Thai Cooking Class
Let’s face it, you can only find great authentic Thai food in Thailand. So why not learn from the real masters of Thai food cooking so you can always enjoy amazing Thai food, even when you’re back at home?
At Sompong Thai Cooking Class, you’ll be taken to a local market to familiarise yourself with local fresh ingredients and get the ones required for your cooking lesson. Then, you’ll be taught the proper way to prepare and cook Thai curry, dessert, and other popular main dishes before enjoying your personally cooked meal. You’ll also get a copy of the recipe to take back home so you won’t ever forget how to make it!

22. Shopping Malls
Just like all major cities, you’ll find tons of shopping malls in Bangkok – in fact, there are nine shopping malls around the Siam and Ratchaprasong area alone! And no matter where you go, you’re guaranteed a good time, whether you’re there to shop, eat, or even just chill.
Not sure where to start? Siam Paragon is your go-to mall for high-end brands – it has a cinema, Kidzania, and a huge aquarium too, in case you’re ever bored eating and shopping. For branded goods at a discount, we recommend visiting Siam Premium Outlets or Central Village where you’ll find brands like Coach and Balenciaga having year-round sales.
Terminal 21 is also a good choice for food and photo ops, with its themed floors (each floor has a different theme!) and numerous chain restaurants. For something premium and scenic, we recommend visiting ICONSIAM – you’ll find local brands like NaRaYa, international brands, and famed restaurants!

23. Local Food
Bangkok isn’t just known for its shopping, but also its delicious food. So what’s a Bangkok trip without eating delicious local food at least once? For great Pad Thai, we recommend visiting Thipsamai and ordering their Pad Thai with shrimp oil, deep-sea prawn, and egg – it’s so umami that you'll order a second plate as you take your first bite.
Pe Aor Tom Yum Kung Noodle also makes great tom yum noodles, perfect for Tom Yum lovers – with seafood, tom yum, and noodles combined, you’ve got a winner right there. For comfort food, Go Ang Pratunam’s Chicken Rice will do just the trick, best eaten together with its spicy sauce and warm soup on the side.
And to end it on a perfect note, Siam Pandan’s Khanom Krok Bai Toey (Thai-style sweet pandan pancake) will perfectly cleanse your palate.

25. SEA Life Bangkok Ocean World
Consisting of 14 different attractions, more than 400 marine species, and 30,000 sea creatures, you’ll be wowed by the wonders of marine life as you enter SEA Life Bangkok Ocean World.
We loved seeing the different themed areas here, from seeing coral reefs and seahorses to discovering marine rainforest animals at the Amazon-themed rainforest area to marine animals found in the ocean like sharks and stingrays.
While you’re here, visit the glass-bottom boat to see the animals up close or even swim with the sharks in the ocean tunnel. For something less adrenaline-racing, but no less fun, head to the 4D cinema to catch a marine-themed movie.

26. Muay Thai Match & Muay Thai Class
Ready yourself for an adrenaline rush as you watch the real pros battle it out in the ring with their Thai boxing, or Muay Thai skills, trying to best their opponent. With nine matches taking place each night, you’ll be surprised by how packed each Muay Thai Match night is with local and foreign fans.
Don’t just stop here. If you enjoyed the match, you can also learn it for yourself at a Muay Thai Class. It’s always great to learn a martial art skill, even if you won’t ever need to use it in a real-life situation.

27. King Power Mahanakhon
King Power Mahanakhon, once the tallest building in Thailand, is a must-visit for locals and travellers because of its Instagrammable structure and popular glass-bottom floor. Other than taking lots of photos, remember to enjoy the view at 314 meters above ground from its SkyWalk!
The building is owned by King Power, the duty-free operator in Thailand, so you can also do some shopping while you’re here too!

28. Floating Market Tour
Your trip to Bangkok isn’t complete without visiting at least one floating market. Shop from sellers selling their goods on wooden boats in a khlong (or canal), ride a wooden boat and enjoy the view of the khlong - or even just chill and enjoy the bustling vibe of a floating market. Whatever it is, you’ll definitely have the time of your day here!

The lil’ ones (or maybe just yourselves) up for something adventurous? Be transported to Africa at Safari World where you’ll see animal shows and wild animals roaming around their territory.
Here, the zoo is separated into two areas. The first zone is the Safari park where you’ll see tigers and elephants roaming around freely – don’t worry though as you'll stay in the comforts of your car throughout this zone. At the second zone, you’ll find various animal shows as well as non-animal attractions like a spy war show.
