    Tokyo DisneySea
Visiting Tokyo DisneySea for the first time? We’ve got you. Here’s everything you need to know about Tokyo DisneySea - food, attractions, the works! This is your ultimate guide to Tokyo DisneySea. Keep reading for some of the best tips and tricks we have for you!

    #KlookTips Before You Visit

Download the Tokyo Disney Resort App

    Tokyo DisneySea app
We highly recommend downloading the Tokyo Disney Resort app on your phone before entering the park! Make sure to enable location access to see where you are on the park's digital map.
The app allows you to see at a glance:
    • Opening hours of the park
    • Ride wait times
    • Various showtimes available
    • Purchase Disney Premier Access
    • Redeem the 40th Anniversary Priority Pass
    • A digital map of the whole park
    • Mobile order food and drinks
    • Book restaurants and show restaurants
For Disney Premier Access, you can only purchase it once your ticket has been scanned at the entry. We recommend that you choose the most popular ride first - Soaring: Fantastic Flight. This ride consistently has a 140-160 minute wait as compared to the other two rides - Journey to the Center of the Earth, Toy Story Mania! and Tower of Terror. As Disney Premier Access is limited, we recommend you get them as fast as you can the moment you enter the park!
Tokyo DisneySea is also offering a 40th Anniversary Priority Pass. This pass is available free of charge and allows guests to select eligible experiences and enter the attraction at a specified time at a reduced wait time. Kind of like Disney Premier Access - but free! These are also limited so do try to get them immediately.

Get Headbands to Start Your Day

    Tokyo Disneyland headband
Save shopping for all your merch at the end of the day, but we think that grabbing your headbands and other accessories like shoulder plushies or popcorn buckets before you start the day so that you can have the cutest props when you take photos around the park!

Go for Single Rider if you can!

Single rider queues are shorter so if you are strapped for time, you can try to take advantage of this option to skip the long queues. This is a great option if you aren't travelling with kids or if you and your friends are alright with not sitting together for the ride.

How to get to Tokyo DisneySea

    Tokyo Disney Railway

    Train

Tokyo DisneySea is located in Urayasu, Chiba and the closest train station is Maihama Station, JR Keiyo line. Travelling from the city to Tokyo DisneySea is accessible with your JR pass. When you tap out of Maihama Station, take the Disney Resort Line to Tokyo DisneySea which is about 12 minutes from the station.

    Car Transfer

If you're travelling in a big group or simply just prefer comfort and convenience, you can also opt for a car transfer.

    BONUS: From your Disney Hotel

    Tokyo Disneyland hotel
Here's why you should stay at a Disney hotel on your next trip. Firstly, it makes your trip to Disney so much more magical and secondly - you get the shortest travel time to Tokyo DisneySea! You can either take the shuttle bus, walk or take the Disney Resort Line.
There are 4 Disney hotels for you to choose from:
    • Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta
    • Tokyo Disneyland Hotel
    • Disney Ambassador Hotel
    • Toy Story Hotel

    Different Zones in Tokyo DisneySea

Tokyo DisneySea has seven zones, or "Port of Calls" to explore, and a day’s more than enough to explore all of them! Check out this Tokyo DisneySea map if you need help planning your itinerary.
Wanna know what to expect in each of the themed zones? Here’s all you need to know:

    NEW IN: Fantasy Springs

Here's a sneak peek at what you can expect 🤩

    What is Fantasy Springs?

    fentasy springs
Located in Tokyo DisneySea, Fantasy Springs is a brand-new park expansion that spans upwards of 140,000 square meters and consists of three main areas based on the fantasy franchises 'Frozen', 'Tangled' and 'Peter Pan'.
Besides this, it will also be home to the Fantasy Springs Hotel, where visitors can get direct access to the theme park through Fantasy Springs.
Featuring interiors inspired by Disney Princesses, flora and fauna with motifs themed to the port, there are also three dining experiences to discover in the hotel: Fantasy Springs Restaurant, Grand Paradis Lounge and La Libellule.

Here's how to get access to Fantasy Springs:
    1. To enter the area at a specified time, you must have a valid Tokyo DisneySea ticket and either a Standby Pass or Disney Premier Access for one of the attractions located inside Fantasy Springs.
How to get these passes, you ask? Once you’re inside Tokyo DisneySea, you can book these via the official Tokyo Disney Resort App. The Standy Pass is FREE, but the Disney Premier Access is PAID.
    2. You can access the area if you are a guest at the Fantasy Springs Hotel (see details in the hotel section below).
    3. You can also be a guest at any Tokyo Disney Resort hotel and purchase a Disney Vacation Package, which includes guaranteed admission into Fantasy Springs with the 1-Day Passport: Fantasy Springs Magic ticket.

    Where is Fantasy Springs?

    fantasy springs
Fantasy Springs is located between the Arabian Coast and Lost River Delta in Tokyo DisneySea! This eighth port is themed to a magical spring leading to a world of fantasy which features three areas: Frozen Kingdom, Rapunzel’s Forest, and Peter Pan’s Never Land. There will be four attractions, three dining areas and (the best bit!) a merchandise shop!

What are the attractions in Fantasy Springs?

There will be four new rides in Fantasy Springs. Here's what you can expect at each of them:

    Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey

You will find Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey at Frozen Kingdom. This family-friendly boat ride brings the well-loved tale of the two sisters to life, with the use of amazing lighting, animatronics and other effects, accompanied by the original film’s well-known songs.
The best part? This boat ride has a longer-than-most-rides duration of 6.5 minutes, which is definitely a bonus!
For those who have been to Hong Kong Disneyland's World of Frozen and enjoyed Frozen Ever After - you'll be glad to know that this Frozen-themed ride at Fantasy Springs is different from the one in Hong Kong, so will you have another amazing experience to look forward to!

    Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure

For those who love Peter Pan and have always wanted to be a part of the Lost Boys - this is for you!
Peter Pan's Never Land Adventure is a 6-minute 3D-experience boat ride where guests can join Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, and the Lost Kids on an epic adventure through Never Land to rescue John from Captain Hook and his band of pirates!

At Pixie Hollow, Tinker Bell has started a new delivery service. On this cute, whimsical rollercoaster ride, guests can help Tinker Bell deliver parcels and packages to various locations throughout the fairy valley, each reflecting a different season.

    Rapunzel's Lantern Festival

    fantasy spring rapunzel lantern festival
    fantasy spring rapunzel lantern festival
    fantasy spring rapunzel lantern festival
Rapunzel's Lantern Festival is probably the most highly-anticipated ride within Fantasy Springs (and that is all for good reason) because Fantasy Springs is the first-ever place where Rapunzel lovers will get to ride into the world of 'Tangled'!
Go on a 5-minute romantic boat ride that leads to the annual Lantern Festival, where you can experience Rapunzel's "best day ever" as she falls in love with Flynn Rider (be still, our hearts!) and visits various locations featured in the film.
We think you should pack some tissues for this one - we're definitely going to be crying when we enter this beautiful scene!

Where can you eat at Fantasy Springs?

There are plenty of places to dine at in Fantasy Springs.

    Royal Banquet of Arendelle

Here you will find menu items inspired by the Lost Kids, including snack boxes of seaweed fritters, banana chips, shrimp chips, and different flavoured chicken tenders. There are also special items such as Lookout Brownie and Pixie Dust Soda.

There's also Springs Treaures, a wagon-style store that offers a variety of merch for those who prefer to grab something quick!

    2. Mediterranean Harbour

    tokyo disneysea globe
As soon as you enter Tokyo DisneySea, you’ll step into the DisneySea plaza where you see a globe with a fountain surrounding it! As you head inwards, you'll step into Mediterranean Harbour where most of the souvenir shops and restaurants are located.
Additionally, this area is where you can find some of DisneySea's more popular rides such as Soaring: Fantastic Flight which is a must-go!

    3. American Waterfront

    tokyo disneysea tower of terror
You'll find the excitement of the big city and the charms of a New England fishing village in this vibrant-themed port! Here, you can find fan-favourite attractions such as Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania.
#FunFact, here is where we saw a custodial cast member draw Donald Duck with just a mop and water!
#KlookTip If you ever see a crowd gathering around looking at the floor, we recommend you stop to take a look too.

    4. Port Discovery

tokyo disneysea nemo and friends searider
Into marine life and futuristic machines? Check out Port Discovery where you can find two fun and exciting rides: Aquatopia and Nemo & Friends SeaRider!
Aquatopia requires you to board a watercraft for a whirling ride with unexpected turns while Nemo & Friends SeaRider lets you explore the world of marine life from Nemo and Dory's perspective - it's a 4D ride that's perfect for families.

    5. Lost River Delta

    tokyo disneysea lost river delta
Deep within the remote Central American jungles lies the ruins of an ancient civilization and an adventure that awaits you! Here is where the thrilling ride, Raging Spirits, awaits you. This rollercoaster comes with a 360-degree loop! The crowd favourite, Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull is in this area too.

    6. Arabian Coast

    tokyo disneysea jasmine's flying carpets
Teleport to a land of magic and mystery! There are lots of kid-friendly rides here and this themed land makes you feel like you're in the hometown of Jasmine and Aladdin. Here we have some favourites such as Jasmine's Flying Carpets, Sindbad's Storybook Voyage and The Caravan Carousel!

    7. Mermaid Lagoon

     tokyo disneysea mermaid lagoon
Visit the world of Ariel and all her aquatic friends! Personally, this is one of our favourite lands because of the huge array of colours and Instagram-worthy spots. Be sure to head underground for lots of indoor rides (psst...it's a good place to head to if it rains). This themed land is perfect for the little ones and the young at heart!
Our favourite rides here include Flounder's Flying Fish Coaster, Scuttle's Scooters and Jumping Jellyfish. Don't forget to check out Sebastian's Calypso Kitchen for some light snacks like pizza slices!

    8. Mysterious Island

tokyo disneysea 20,000 leagues under the sea
Last but not least, we have Mysterious Island! True to its name, discover all sorts of mysteries and secrets deep within the centre of the Earth. Here in this land, we have the iconic Journey to the Centre of the Earth which is our favourite ride in DisneySea!
Also, you'll get to board a submarine and explore the fantastic undersea world in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
Don't forget to get yourself a yummy gyoza bun from Nautilus Gallery to fill up your tummy too. This one's our favourite snack in the whole theme park!

Shows and parades at Tokyo DisneySea

     tokyo disneysea parade
Besides exploring all the different lands and fun rides, there's also plenty of entertainment throughout the park that runs the whole day. There are various parades, character meet and greets, and performances to catch, so make sure to check out the timings of what you are interested in and head there early to queue!
Some parades also have Disney Premier Access which allows you to be seated in a specific viewing area and allows for an unobstructed view of the parade. If you do not want to get Disney Premier Access for the parades, we recommend that you head down to the viewing areas at least 1 hour before the parade starts to get the best view!

What to Eat at Tokyo DisneySea

There are a variety of restaurants at Tokyo Disneyland offering a selection of international cuisines including vegetarian and halal choices.
    Our favourite must-eats:
    Alien Mochi
    tokyo disneyland alien mochi
We loved these alien mochis that came in 3 different flavours - custard, strawberry and chocolate! The best part about this is that you can use Disney Mobile Order on the Tokyo Disney Resort app to avoid waiting in line! You can get the alien mochi at Mama Biscotti’s Bakery or the food cart in front of the S.S. Columbia.
    Popcorn
    tokyo disneyland popcorn bucket
This isnt your regular movie bar-sold popcorn! Popcorn is sold in booths all across Tokyo DisneySea - but here's the thing - each booth sells a different flavour! From classic favourites like caramel, cheese, and chocolate to unique flavours like matcha white chocolate and garlic shrimp - you're totally spoilt for choice we say.
Also, you will notice visitors in the park carrying adorable popcorn buckets which come in many designs - our personal favourite is the Monsters Inc. bucket.
#KlookTip if you get a popcorn bucket, you can get discounted refills at popcorn booths!
    Gyoza Bun
    tokyo disneysea gyoza bun
This DisneySea snack went viral on TikTok for its flavourful filling which contains ground pork, chives, cabbage, garlic, soy sauce and sesame oil!
    Ice Cream
    tokyo disneysea ice cream
There are loads of ice cream carts around the park but our two favourites are the tropical fruit popsicle (orange Mickey) and the sea salt monaka (a pink sea shell wafer with salt ice cream and raspberry jam inside).
    Italian Food
    Tokyo DisneySea Ristorante di Canaletto
We had the chance to dine at Ristorante di Canaletto, which is often fully booked and requires a reservation. However, we queued for a table about 30 minutes to 1 hour before opening time and managed to walk in. The restaurant sells pizza and pasta and overlooks the canals. It's as if you're in Venice!
We got the Chef's recommended pizza - which consisted of a roasted tomato (you have to spread it around to form the base of the pizza), parmesan cheese, parma ham and rocket salad, and squid ink tagliatelle pasta with squid, mussels and arugula in tomato sauce. The food was worth the wait and it didn't feel like we were in a theme park!

    FAQ

When is the best time to visit?

    tokyo disneyland christmas
We recommend visiting Tokyo DisneySea in April. You'll get to enjoy cooler weather and spend the rest of your days in Tokyo admiring the cherry blossoms. If you want to visit the park during the off-season, we recommend that you book your tickets after 6 May or Golden Week, Japan's national week-long holiday. The general rule of thumb is to avoid weekends and public holidays if possible!
Of course, while crowds may get bigger during the holidays, it's still great and extra magical to visit Tokyo DisneySea during October and November for the Halloween and Christmas events!

    Is Tokyo DisneySea worth visiting?

Definitely yes! Tokyo DisneySea is the only one in the world so this is a definite must go! The park also has unique rides that you won't find at any other Disney theme parks around the world.

Do they speak English at Tokyo DisneySea?

Yes, they do speak English here. Cast members and park staff talk in English and other languages. However, do note that the English-speaking members aren't always available. Still, most signs inside the park are multilingual for everyone's convenience. You can download Google Translate just in case too!

How many days do I need in Tokyo DisneySea?

If you plan to visit the whole of Tokyo Disney Resort, the ideal length of visit is a full two days, so you'd have enough time to visit Tokyo DisneySea and Disneyland. You can even stay at the hotels in Tokyo Disney Resort to save time on the commute and make the most of your trip!
