A fun-filled Universal Studios Singapore adventure
Blockbuster movie buffs and theme park lovers, heads up: Universal Studios Singapore is just your place for a fun-filled day of immersive lands, thrilling rides and adventure! In this guide, we detail all the zones and attractions for you to maximise your day.
Getting to Universal Studios Singapore
The most efficient and economical way to get to Universal Studios Singapore from outside Sentosa is via the Sentosa Express, which leaves from Level 3 of Vivocity (Exit E, Harbourfront Station). This short trip will take you only 5 minutes!
Visitors may also drive in to Sentosa for free until 31 March 2021. Per entry parking at Resorts World Sentosa is $6 on weekdays and $9 on weekends.
If you’re down to walk (and walking is free), you can take a 15-20 minute stroll along the boardwalk that connects Vivocity to Sentosa.
A more scenic option would be to hop on the Singapore Cable Car, which will give you a bird’s-eye view of the greenery in both islands. This will cost $25.50, and you’ll get some gorgeous 360-degree views of Singapore’s southern regions.
Seven fun-filled zones
Universal Studios Singapore has different zones, each of them with their own unique themes and attractions.
To make the most out of the day, we suggest starting from either a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction (in reference to the park map layout) as you visit the different zones.
Here’s a breakdown of the best rides and sights at each zone!
Hollywood
Right at the entrance of Universal Studios Singapore is Hollywood — and as its name suggests, it’s all glitz and glamour here. Take in the Los Angeles vibes from the neoclassical architecture and the iconic Walk of Fame.
Here is also where you can meet the adorable Minions from Illumination’s Despicable Me ™, as well as grab an All-American bite at Mel’s Drive-In ™. Always keep a lookout for seasonal menus while you are there!
Madagascar
Just like the movie, this zone is all tropical vibes! Kids will also be delighted by the vibrant carousel ride on King Julien’s Beach Party-Go-Round – this would be a great opportunity for you to grab Insta-worthy shots of them!
Far Far Away
The home of the towering Far Far Away castle in Universal Studios Singapore can be seen from afar, but close-up you will notice iconic surroundings from the Shrek films. Catch special appearances by your favourite DreamWorks Animation characters such as Shrek himself, Princess Fiona and Puss in Boots!
You’ll also find Puss In Boots’ Giant Journey, an anti-gravity adventure that starts atop a giant beanstalk, then takes you in search of the precious golden eggs.
Next, climb aboard the Enchanted Airways and get ready for a flight in the open air! This rollercoaster is perfect for guests of all ages.
The Lost WorldTM
This prehistoric-themed zone is jam-packed with all kinds of attractions. Take a bird’s-eye (or dino’s-eye) view of Jurassic Park from the Canopy Flyer™, or let the kids hop on the flying Pteranodons on Dino-Soarin’TM.
Keep your eyes peeled as you might encounter a Velociraptor here as well.
And of course, there’s the Jurassic Park Rapids AdventureTM — a white-water raft ride that takes you through the iconic Jurassic Park grounds. Get your ponchos ready!
#KlookTip: If you’ve forgotten your poncho, don’t worry: ponchos are available on-site for $5.
Ancient Egypt
This zone can be marked out for the eye-catching Pharaohs’ tombs and sandstone facades. The star of this zone is undoubtedly the Revenge of the Mummy™ ride — an indoor high-speed rollercoaster designed to test your courage in the face of huge fireballs, swarms of scarab beetles and an army of warrior mummies. Did we also mention that the ride is in the dark?
Sci-Fi CityTM
This one’s for the adrenaline junkies. Pick your side on Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs. CYLON™ — the world’s tallest dueling roller coasters - and get ready for a spectacular roller coaster ride of twists, drops and turns!
You’ve got to try both - the Human or Cylon - at least once. Human takes you through an inversion-free ride that propels you over 14 stories into the air, while Cylon riders are suspended legs-free with an intense corkscrew and a cobra roll.
Don’t miss Transformers The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle either, for a hyper-realistic adrenaline-filled chase across rooftops and the city skyline. Then, at Transformers: Voices of Cybertron, you’ll get face-to-face with talking Megatron who has got plenty to say. Adults and kids alike can test their stamina at the AcceleratorTM ride, which spins and twirls on its turntable.
New York
Take to the streets of New York in this iconic zone. If you’ve ever been to the Big Apple itself, this will bring back good memories. Check out Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase for some kid-friendly fun, and look out for your favourite Sesame Street characters on the streets as well!
#KlookTip: Visitors with children may want to start from the left for more family-friendly experiences in the Madagascar and Far Far Away zones, whilst thrill-seekers should head right towards adrenaline-pumping attractions such as TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle, and Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs CYLON – both at the Sci-Fi City zone.
