Most comfortable bed so far on our 2 week holiday. Blackout curtains were great. Central location with easy access to the Peace Park and public transport to the main station.

The best way to get around between Osaka and Hiroshima, including the ferry from Miyajima Island, you can take certain transports in Kyoto but the Shin Osaka- Kyoto route does not include it (you have to pay an adjustment at the station), even so it is worth it and if you organize yourself you can go to other places like Himeji at no additional cost.

This ticket is very convenient and cheap, and the CP value is very high. I look forward to using the free pass for my trip to Okayama and Hiroshima in December.

Cultural and Historical Significance

The Hiroshima Peace Memorial, also known as the Atomic Bomb Dome, is a profound symbol of both the devastating power of nuclear weapons and the enduring hope for global peace. Originally designed by Czech architect Jan Letzel in 1915, the building was used for art and educational exhibitions before the atomic bombing on August 6, 1945. Today, it stands as a testament to the resilience and determination of the people of Hiroshima, reminding visitors of the importance of peace and the global movement towards nuclear disarmament.

Authenticity and Preservation

The Genbaku Dome has been preserved with minimal reinforcement to maintain its condition as it was immediately after the bombing. This commitment to authenticity allows visitors to experience the site in its original form, design, materials, and setting, making it a truly genuine historical landmark.

UNESCO World Heritage Site

In 1996, the Atomic Bomb Dome was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This recognition underscores its significance as a symbol of peace and a poignant reminder of the catastrophic consequences of nuclear warfare.
