We had limited time in Nagano, so we decided to take a bit of a risk and booked a private tour, so we could fit the two places we wanted to experience, Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park and Togakushi Shrine. This tour was a bit pricey, but super worth it! Our guide picked us up directly from our Airbnb (saving us a trip to a meeting place), gave us a lot of good local information on the places where we went, recommended an excellent soba place for lunch, and was generally a fantastic hang :-) The snow monkey park was beautiful, the path to the Togakushi Shrine gate was simply magical, and our guide Dai made everything come together.

Endo-san was a great tour guide, excellent tour, on time every time, many tips, and recomendations, On weekends was crowed in every place, but It was a funny day.

Ryu, the tour guide is very friendly and accommodating. Recommended a local resto when the restos near snow monkey park were full packed, we had our fill to the brim. Took nice vids and pics of our family. Made our first snow experience a very memorable one. Core memory esp for the kids.

highlight was definitely the snow monkeys! So wonderful experience to see them in their zone, soaking in the onsen and wandering around the humans. Hahaha. Lunch provided was also in a beautiful restaurant and the hotpot was soooo good.

we had an experience of a lifetime! Yama our tour guide was awesome. and the monkey park was unreal. Highly recommend this tour. easy to get to from Tokyo as well!

Had a lot of fun on this trip and it was amazing seeing the snow monkeys! Prepare for a very long ride by downloading movies. Also the hike is quite slippery so wear appropriate footwear or bring cash for the rentals!

we knew Nagano was far and chose to take the tour instead of going by Shinkansen ourselves. Glad we did. bus was very comfortable and spacious, wifi worked well. our guide Thomas was very professional and informative, probably the best guide we had on our teip so far. the drivers were also very good and provided us a smooth and comfortable ride. Lunch was good. nice sujiyaki on a cold day. monkey park was a long walk in but it was worth seeing so many monkeys and some in the hot spring. we met a traveller 2 weeks ago and they didnt get to see any monkeys so we were lucky. all in all, a good tour. highly recommend. wear shoes with good grip as its a long walk and can be slippery
