The tour operator is Wendy’s tours, our guide Kanlaya was absolutely fantastic. She was very knowledgeable, informative and happy to be around. She helped us and took our photos at every stop along the way, she taught us about Doi Inthanon, Karen villages, their culture, and tried getting us to learn a bit of the language! Our day did not have much actual walking or hiking so someone who is not very fit could definitely enjoy this.

Our tour guide was very helpful all the time. I even learned some local plants from him. The village is a must-visit place as it’s in the middle of rice fields and amazing waterfalls. Especially the coffee and herbal teas that locals offered us were great.

The tour guide, Sister Guo, is very professional and caring. Because the departure time is early, she specially prepared toast and fruit for everyone, so that we can eat and recharge our energy in the car. Doi Inthanon National Park is very beautiful, and the twin towers in the fog are a bit unreal. The hiking trail experience is quite special. Some sections of the road are not very easy to walk, but it is not difficult. In addition to Sister Guo, I also hired a mountaineering guide who is a local ethnic minority who is familiar with mountain roads. You can see many special plants along the road, and also saw very emerald green and beautiful red-tailed green bamboo silk. It was the first time I saw such a beautiful and moving snake. Because I was accompanied by a professional guide, I was not afraid. When the terraced fields and waterfalls came into view, I felt that everything was worth it. This is the best trip in Chiang Mai, and I recommend it to everyone.

The meeting point is at Peta Gate. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the ancient city of Chiang Mai Temple. The bus left on time, but I found out that he was actually continuing to pick up other guests. Then I realized that klook cooperated with the local Wendy travel agency. If you make a reservation with the local, It is more convenient to pick up and drop off directly at the hotel. The waterfall on this trip is very interesting, but you will get wet as soon as you get close to it. Remember to bring an umbrella or a raincoat. Lunch is very simple. Everyone gathers in a local shop to eat three dishes and one soup. You can add more It’s free, and the taste is very ordinary. The route of the Twin Towers National Park is very simple. If you walk carefully, you can visit both towers in 30 minutes. There are escalators to go up the stairs, but you need to climb the stairs yourself. People with bad knees should consider coming here. It’s best to go together as two people and wear nice clothes. The gardens of the Queen’s Tower are really great for taking pictures. On the way back, the tour guide asked us where we were staying in the ancient city. We were sent back to the hotel along the way. It was very considerate and did not force us to leave a tip. , only Westerners tip, and he doesn’t care.

We trekked at Kew Mae Pan nature trail instead. It's a pity that it rained the night before, hence the observation deck was kind of foggy. But it managed to clear up a bit. It can get quite cold, so do bring along a jacket.

It’s supposed to be rainy season in July but we are blessed with great weather in the morning and early afternoon. Our guide (Nataya) and driver are both women who are friendly and thoughtful. Nataya speaks good English and always turn around to check if we are awake before speaking and ensures we are comfortable. The Honda City car is clean and comfortable. We are surprised the karen guide speak quite good English too just by learning it himself. Karen guide provides very informative explanation throughout the walk. The route is slippery but it’s great that the National park/tribe people built railings using bamboo. We love the 2 hrs walk to the Karen village. The coffee made we very nice and one can buy a small packet of coffee beans/powder for 200 baht. The set meal restaurant recommended by Nataya is local and taste nice too. This is the highlight of our trip and we love it a lot. No regrets booking this private tour and would recommend anyone who has time to try this out.
