Smooth travel between HK and Macau. Not advisable though for people who get sea sick quickly. The terminal, Taipa terminal, is very near Cotai Strip which is the location of the famous The Londoner, The Parisian, and The Venetian.

Because I misjudged the crowds on my way out in the morning and couldn't buy the ideal ferry at the scene, I decided to book tickets in advance on the platform for the return trip. Scan the QR code directly at the counter and the tickets will be printed for us~~ It's really convenient! ! !

Exhibition on Verandahs

Explore the exhibition that introduces the revitalization project of Lui Seng Chun and the architectural features of tong lau. This informative display offers insights into the building's historical and cultural significance.

Cultural and Historical Significance

Lui Seng Chun was built by Mr. Lui Leung, a prominent figure in Hong Kong's transport and trading sectors. The building served as a Chinese bone-setting medicine shop and family residence, reflecting the blend of commercial and residential uses typical of the era. Its designation as a Grade I Historic Building and subsequent revitalization underscore its importance in preserving Hong Kong's heritage.

Architectural Features

The building's architecture is a blend of Chinese and Western styles, featuring reinforced concrete structures, granite columns, and decorative Italianate designs. The deep verandahs and curved front elevation are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional, designed to protect against the elements and maximize space.

Revitalization Efforts

The revitalization project, completed in 2012 by Hong Kong Baptist University, preserved the original architectural features while making necessary modifications for modern use. The project included adding a lift, toilets for people with disabilities, and enclosing verandahs with clear glass.

Adaptive Reuse

Lui Seng Chun has been revitalized as part of the Hong Kong Government's Revitalising Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme. Now a hub of culture and heritage, the building hosts various cultural, educational, and healthcare activities, ensuring its historical significance is preserved for future generations.
