What is an insurance excess?
The insurance excess is the amount you're liable for if you make a claim. This sum will be deducted from the amount you receive from the insurance company.
Example
Your insurance excess is USD 250 and you make a claim for USD 1,000. Your car insurance provider will keep the first USD 250 and give you the remaining USD 750.
If your excess is 0 and you make a claim for USD 1,000, the insurance provider will give you back USD 1,000.
You can pay to upgrade your coverage when you pick up your car at the rental counter, to reduce your insurance access. Look for the details of your insurance excess and more details about your rental car's insurance coverage in your booking voucher and booking details page.
