The reservation system is very convenient. Remember to bring $500 for photos at the Bank of Taiwan. The mountain road is difficult to navigate, so please proceed within your limits. Service:
The scenery is stunning, but be prepared for intense sun exposure, watch out for cliff safety, and try to visit on a weekday. During peak season, remember to check reservation requirements, bring plenty of water and sun protection, stick strictly to the official trails, and do not risk climbing over the barriers.
I recommend going in the autumn. Summer is too hot with absolutely no shade, so be sure to take sun protection measures.
The staff are all amazing, the scenery is truly incredible, and it's just so beautiful.
The scenery is super beautiful. Even as a low-energy person who doesn't exercise, it took me three hours round trip.
To the staff, thank you for your hard work. Under the bright sunshine, the staff were very responsible, helping visitors to be careful. The walk took two hours to complete, and the scenery was beautiful.
Be sure to wear sunscreen, otherwise you'll get sunburned. Also, make sure to bring plenty of water.
Definitely worth seeing! Service: Facilities: Experience:

The “High Island Geo Trail – Po Pin Chau Section”

The “High Island Geo Trail – Po Pin Chau Section” is a round trip of about 2 km in length and involves an ascent of about 200 m. Completing the entire trail takes about 2 hours. With a difficulty rating of 3 out of 5 stars and uneven terrain, this route is only suitable for people with hiking or trekking experience. Please assess your physical fitness and hiking experience before setting out, and stay safe at all times. The entire trail is exposed, without shade, shelter, refreshment points or mid-route exits. Please check the latest weather information before setting out, and ensure that you have suitable gear and sufficient food and water. As the cliff edges near the trail have undergone long-term weathering, please follow the waymarks, stay on the maintained trail, and do not cross barriers or approach cliff edges to ensure your safety. Practice “Take Your Litter Home” to protect our precious natural environment together.

The entrance and exit for the Po Pin Chau Section are located next to the terminus of New Territories GMB Route No. 9A on Sai Kung Man Yee Road. Along the route, there are waymarks and viewing spots, with preserved landmarks such as the original triangulation station and the cross-shaped concrete structure. The route concludes at the Po Pin Chau Viewing Platform. Along the way, visitors can enjoy the scenery of Po Pin Chau, the Kim Chu Wan rocky beach, the East Dam and the High Island Reservoir. The trail offers a spectacular full view of hexagonal rock column landscape in Sai Kung.

In addition to the Po Pin Chau Section, the High Island Geo Trail includes the East Dam Section and the Biu Tsim Kok Section, for which reservations are not required.

For more information about the East Dam of the High Island Reservoir, please visit the Hong Kong Geopark website

If I arrive early, can I enter earlier than my reserved time? (e.g., if my reservation time is in the afternoon, but I arrive in the morning)

Because the reservation system is designed to spread out visitor flow, visitors should arrive as close as possible to their reservation time. However, if that time slot is already full, you will need to wait until your original reserved time to enter.

If I am late for my reservation time, can I still enter?

If you miss your reserved time slot, staff will try to arrange for you to enter during other time slots with remaining availability that day. However, each time slot has a capacity limit. If the on-site number exceeds the limit, you may need to wait longer, so it is recommended that you arrive within your reserved time slot.

Is there any group reservation arrangement? If many people or a group is visiting together, how should it be handled?

The current reservation system does not offer group reservation arrangements. It uses real-name registration, and each person can reserve up to 5 slots per booking.
