It is located on the way to Arashiyama Chikurin and is about a 7-minute walk from Saga-Arashiyama Station. I went exactly at 10:30 as I had made a reservation, and it didn't really matter if I was late for the reservation. The people who helped me change my clothes were kind and I could feel the spirit of Kyoto. Since it was winter, they told me to wear something like underwear inside, but it would be cold even wearing that in the middle of winter. I made a reservation with the full lace option, but I think it wasn't necessary. ㅎㅎ And the kimono was so pretty that I liked it!! I don't recommend wearing straw sandals? Those traditional shoes. Your toes will hurt so much and your feet will be numb. ㅜㅜ They also did my hair nicely, and they parted it in the Japanese style, like 2:8. I think people may or may not like it. I had my hair extensions, so I only did 4:6, and that was better. ㅎㅎ I returned it after two hours this time, but next time I want to wear it for a really long time! I recommend it.

Highly recommended for anyone intrested to experience Japan’s traditional wear around Arishiyama,Kyoto area! Reaches slightly late due to bad traffic but to our surprise, the staff was already waiting for us and recommended according to our likes and features! Definitely won’t regret choosing them!

It was a unique and very enriching experience. There were only two of us participating that day, so I was able to learn a lot about Japanese culture and the Miko calmly. Both Chihiro-san, who was our "teacher", and the rest of the temple staff were very kind and attentive. I recommend this experience if you want to experience something different on your trip.

Renting a kimono (or yukata in summer) in Japan was a truly memorable and authentic cultural experience! The rental process was seamless, with a wide variety of beautiful designs and colors to choose from. The staff were incredibly helpful, assisting with the proper selection based on my preferences and ensuring the kimono was worn correctly and comfortably. Walking through traditional streets, temples, and shrines while dressed in a kimono made the experience feel so immersive and special. Many rental shops also offered hairstyling services, which completed the look perfectly. It was also surprisingly affordable for such a unique experience. I highly recommend kimono or yukata rental to anyone visiting Japan—it’s a wonderful way to connect with the culture and capture amazing photos!

We love the place, it's quite central, we got off the bus and walked a few steps, we were already in the boutique, the people are very friendly and they have a HUGE VARIETY to choose from, from bags, hair accessories, kimonos and kimono accessories.

The store is pretty easy to find, their hospitality and service is phenomenal esp i'm pregnant. Very gentle when they put my kimono on. They actually settled everything for me. The photographer & the ride tour carrousel. I would highly recommend this store. Photos turned out pretty good. Thank you so much, Kimono Rental Shop Ruri!!!
