Things to do in Waitomo Glowworm Caves

Started the day with Chris 6.20am at sky city hotel entrance. He is a friendly expert driver who drove us to Hobbiton and handed us to Rob who was our guide at Hobbiton. We had ginger beer which has no alcohol. He shared stories which made the tour more interesting. We were lucky to have them.

Got to walk through 2 different caves over 2 hours, in group of 12. Much better than at the big advertised Waitomo caves. Plenty of chance for pictures, rode in rubber raft, saw glow worms up close and got to ask lots of questions

What a wonderful experience for fans of the LOTR and The Hobbit. Ticketing was easy with Klook and from there, the guided tour took us about 2 hours with 1 complimentary serving of beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)

Whether you are a Lord of the Rings fan or not dont skip this amazing experience. You will fall in love with the setting and entire creativity of the setup. If you are LOTR fan then as you can imagine this is paradise and worth every penny.

I had an incredible time on this tour! The Hobbiton movie set was even more magical in person, and our guide shared fascinating insights into the filming process. A must-do for any LOTR fan! The Waitomo Caves were simply breathtaking, with thousands of glowing glowworms illuminating the underground caverns.

At the beginning, you have to wait at Shire Coffee. A group will leave every ten minutes. You must arrive on time. A staff member will lead you to introduce each scene that appears in the movie. You may have the opportunity to visit the house.

Super well organised... our guide Brad was knowledgeable and funny! The scenarios are amazing... now we need to rewatch LOTR and Hobbits!

The Hobbiton Tour Movie Set is simply outrageous!!! It is so educational and splendid. The tour was planned so well and everything was perfect. I really enjoyed it very much. I highly recommend this to all, even though you are not a Hobbit fan.
