Things to do in Toshodai-ji

Andrew, the guide, was so kind and full of positive energy. He guided us with all his heart. Thanks to his kind and detailed guidance, we had a fun family trip. He even guided us in Korean, which was the best. The food at the restaurant he introduced was delicious. The bamboo forest was beautiful, and the thousand-year-old wooden bridge in Kyoto was a great view. We had plenty of time to buy pretty souvenirs. I highly recommend it. Andrew, the guide, who always has a lot of laughter and is full of energy, was really, really, really kind and the best~~ Thank you for giving us the best memories of our trip to Japan~~♡♡♡

Amazing experience. It was a 20 min taxi or 40 min train from Nara Park we went with a taxi for about $30 AUD. The experience is held at Haroni Kissako-An’s (Tea Ceremony Master) house. He was very welcoming and showed us all the correct steps for a tea ceremony. He was strict with how we performed the steps but was light hearted and made the experience fun and enjoyable. I will highly recommend this experience to others as myself and 3 others really enjoyed ourselves.

I had a tour to 3 cities with Anson today. He gave us the very clear instructions of meeting points, schedules and lots of information about places that we could going to in both verbal and written on WhatsApp group.

This was my second time travelling to these places but my elderly mother’s first time. The itinerary suited us, three destinations and easily accessible walking. Great communication from Amanda on WhatsApp providing meet up points and time. Commentary was relevant. Thank you also for the welcome donuts 😋

I’m very glad I chose to combine both Kyoto and Nara into one day. With limited time, this tour gave me just the right amount of highlights without feeling rushed. The itinerary was well-organized, and I felt satisfied with what I saw and experienced. The golden temple (Kinkaku-ji), the peaceful streets of Kyoto, and the deer-filled park in Nara were all memorable. The tour staff were kind, attentive, and clearly cared about the comfort of every guest — especially Harry, who was exceptionally helpful and welcoming. I appreciated their guidance and smooth handling of time and logistics. Highly recommended for those who want a rich and balanced one-day experience without the hassle of planning everything themselves.

Was a great way to see Kyoto! Itinerary is tight so definitely make sure you prioritise what you want to see in each place, and be respectful of the meet up time for the sake of the other passengers! Recommend for any solo travellers - convenient pick up + drop off in Namba!

Ashley was a fantastic tour guide. She was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I booked the trip so I wouldn't have to worry about getting to and from Nara/Uji and I was very satisfied with the bus transport. If you're looking for a convenient form of transportation, not to worried about having a strict schedule and love matcha, I highly recommend this tour!
