Book a reserved seat if you have 2 carry on size luggage's for more of a hassle free travel experience. If traveling with a backpack I would definitely book a non-reserved seat to save a few dollars. Ample leg room, but no under seat space for storage.

Tokyo - Kyoto ·
great experience with lots of room for legs! we tryed to book seat with view over mount fuji but did not get it. So we arrived early (7am for the 7:30am train) and it was no problem getting a unreserved seat with mount fuji view - short story did not need to buy the more exspensive tickets, so that was a bommer! our big backpacks of 15kg fitted perfect on the overhead shelf so no need for oversized lugguage.

booking reserved tickets was simple on Klook. To note, you go to the JR Shinkansen gates located at the Yaesu East Exit at Tokyo Station. It’s the BLUE SHINKANSEN GATES you scan your Klook QR code at. This produces a paper ticket that you grab and take on the train with you. Once through this gate look for the monitor just inside these gates for the track your train(name) is going to be on-listed on your ticket is the train name(mine was the NOZOMI225) and the time of your trip. this is just like an airport monitor. follow the sign to your track number and wait at your assigned train car number. any employee will help you if you need it. ONE LAST THING! you’ve got to scan your QR CODE KLOOK TICKET to exit the station at your destination-just go directly to the employee at the exit gate to help you. the QR code doesn’t always scan easily.

Here's what you can expect: Arrival Experience Upon arrival, the airport's efficiency is evident. Immigration and customs procedures are generally smooth, with clear signage in multiple languages (including English). Staff are helpful and polite, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere.

It is very easy to book and you just have to scan the QR code and claim the ticket in a JR ticket machine. Just make sure you don’t get lost as the station is quite big and we got a hard time looking for the ticket machine. Anyway, the experience is totally worth it.

The Sanyo Shinkansen line connects Osaka to Fukuoka; it is an extension of the Tokaido Shinkansen that can take you from Tokyo to Fukuoka (Hakata). Panning into Kyushu region, there’s also the Kyushu Shinkansen, operating from Hakata to Kagoshima.

Looking at the north and east of Tokyo, there are 6 more Shinkansen lines. The Hokuriku Shinkansen and Joetsu Shinkansen can take you from Tokyo to Kanazawa and Niigata. What is Narita Express (N'EX)?

The Narita Express is a dedicated airport train that runs between Narita Airport and various locations in Tokyo, including Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Tokyo Station. It operates regularly throughout the day, with departures as often as every 30 minutes.

One of the key advantages of taking the Narita Express is its speed. The train travels at up to 160 kilometers per hour, allowing you to reach your destination quickly and comfortably. You won't have to worry about traffic jams or delays due to road congestion.
